The 599 has won evo's car of the year award beating the 997 GT3 and Lambo LP640 along the way.
The car tested had £48,415 worth of extras on it.

Any of you guys specced your car up that much?

Do you know where the test took place? What color was the 599?

Congrats to the 599, awesome car. Thank god the 997 GT3 didn't win again.

Its a great car, no question there, but not having read the article, I must assume the criteria is as drivers car in which case youd think the GT3 or LP would have nixed it.

As per usual, Evo is always an excellent read. And has some of the best write-ups on cars and events (compared to the crap Top Gear magazine calls articles).

The 599GTB looked lovely (although almost £50k of extras which is quite a lot over the standard car), and was also the most reliable. As the LP640 was throwing out water every now and then, and the GT3 got a puncture (although that wasnt the cars problem obviously).

    Definately worth reading!

Think exactly the opposite. 599 is THE driver's car in my opinion. I have a GT3 RS arriving in 4 weeks and there is no doubt in my mind that the 599 is more of a driver's car. Lambo not even on the radar

Totally agree. Ferrari got it so right with this car; simply blows everything else away.

Couldnt agree more. Although i was impressed by the GT3, i was blown away with my 430 experience, i cant imagine how much more visceral a 599 is. They really have come along way.

well done ferrari, i think nowadays ferrari are just perfect, sporty yet refined, they can be a drivers car or not depending on traction control modes and you're driving style. You can take it to work comfortably or take it to the track. Last year the 430 won quite a few awards for best car, drivers car etc...

You should be scared. Carbon brakes alone are pushing $18,000.

For the best? You pay. Take a 400K sticker. For a "Car of the Year?"

    Worth every penny...
