Scrapedthe bottom of the front bumper of the CS on a *tiny* speed bump today.... Crap. To make matters worse, I was right in front of the guy that was going to trailer the car to the dealer for its three year service.. I told the dealer to fix it fast so that I am not reminded of my stupidity. Crap.

Figures - I have never smacked the CGT or GT3, but the second I get an F-car - I screw up! Crap.

its alright, eventually you get used to the sound, doesn't hurt unless you feel the scrape in the seat of your pants... then you should call the body shop :)

Yes... I bought it from a guy in CT with 210 miles on it. He was scared to drive it... It's a blast to drive but you almost have to plan your daily travels in advance due to road conditions... It's that low (and expensive to fix)

You know what's more fun than the sound of scraping a bumper? The sound of a new Ferrari owner after they hear the scraping sound.

Forget about it. Spray it the week before you sell it. Just keep driving.

even if you had skid plates, a speed bump would probably still do you in if you don't use caution

It'll happen again (and again, and again, and again...) Either become real good buds with the body shop or just leave it.

Well... It's at the dealer for it's BIG service, so while it's there - They'll have it done for me..

Has anyone ever installed their horseshoes with doublesided structural foam tape?? I don't wanna drill holes, but need some protection...

    I'm with Ferretti and Ringmeister,
Congrats - you popped your cherry - it sucks but get used to scraping the spoiler or plan on taking it to be fixed on a monthly basis if you drive it. You can't drive these cars (any Ferraris for that matter) without scraping the underside of the front spoiler on a fairly regular basis.

Do what Emil wrote, leave it and fix it the week before you sell it.

Sorry to hear, but don't lose sleep over it - we all do it ;)

You can have the scrape repaired easily enough....John Paterek can do that for you. Look into the skid plates made for the 360s to prevent damage in the future.

bottoming out at 3 mph doesn't really affect a car. If I were looking at a car that had such "damage" or had a respray to repair it, it would definitely not turn me off.

If you say so. He did a nice job on the 330 GTS restoration and the Dino paint touch up recently. They're about ready for a Ferrari sign outside next to the Porsche sign.

Your dealer will just sublet the job. Why don't you bring your car to Classic Coach in Elizabeth. They're a Factory-authorized coach repair shop. It'll be like nothing ever happened.

Consider those skid plates. Not concours-correct, but they'll save you in many instances. They look nice too.

I'm not sure that will hold. Sometimes it's necessary to improve on the original design. For example, my early GTB never had a muffler heat shield installed. That came later in the series. I had to install heat-reflective insulation to protect the fiberglass panel underneath:

But my new F430 is oh so nice...

Oh, and be careful with the skid plates. Often times they do more damage than they pretend to save you from!
