    Welcome to Ferrarichat BZ. :)
I guess a later model Ferrari, like an older model Ferrari will require regular maintenance. Servicing, brake pads ect.....ect......:) Just make sure you budget some money for service/repairs when you buy your 1st Ferrari. That last thing you want is to not have enough money to afford to service/repair your car when needed. What model are you looking at? 360/430 ect...?

Go to the regional forum that covers Indiana and ask about locations of good independants. I am unfamiliar with Ft Wayne but I am aware of at least one good shop in Indy. I do not know how far away that is.

I just bought a 355 Spider and I'm in South Bend. I have targeted the Ferrari Guys in Ohio as my maint outlet. I'll just have to trailer it there when the time comes. I'm just happy to have the car and enjoy the experience. I'm no too worried about maint yet. I just had the 30K done at a dealer before the car was delivered so I'm good for a while (I hope).

They haven't worked on my car (I'm 800 miles away!), but I have dealt with NJB on some parts. I always find them extremely knowledgeable and professional.

What is the name of the shop in Indy? Indy is what 2 to 3 hour drive from Ft Wayne

I have a good friend in Ft Wayne also; he has a Fcar and a Lcar. I know on some of the smaller items he has a performance shop in Ft Wayne do the easy stuff while he is leaning over their shoulder and has a shop book with him. He did talk about taking the cars Chicago to do the major stuff. Or he also talked about shipping the car to that :) "old man in Boulder, CO". :) But I think that is just an excuse to his wife so he can get his car to Colorado and have some fun driving out here.

Is the shop in FTW you're referring to EPP? Exotic Performance Plus is familair with Fcars, the onwer of the shop once had quite a collection of them.

    Hey Brett,

I think it depends on the car. If it is under warranty I'd drive it (or flatbed) it to Columbus or Detroit to the "official" Ferrari dealer. If it is out of warranty, it depends what is wrong with it. I also know a couple of great independent local guys that don't specialize in Ferraris, but they do other nice cars and are just great mechanics. I would trust them with just about anything.

I'm in Fort Wayne with a 2006 F430 (and a bunch of other stuff) and it doesn't scare me. <gr>

I wouldn't be a "wanna-be owner"...man, get going and be an owner..You'll never regret it!

I'm in Montana and there isn't much out here in the way of high end mechanics. I have a 95 355. When I need service work done, I have a big pick up and an enclosed trailer. I go down to Boulder/Scuderia Rampante which is about 550 miles away- not a bad drive. Sounds like you should be pretty well connected out there.

I think that is the place. But from what I was told about this so called collection that would scare me away from the place.
