I have the front of my car completely disassembled, and noticed that I was missing the two rubber plugs on the very bottom of the trunk floorboard. With them removed, I can see Mother Earth directly underneath.

    (See #17 in attached picture)

I just popped some brand new ones into the floor ($7/ea, but probably also available at Pep Boys for $6.50 ;) ), and everything looks nice and clean. But it got me wondering... WTF are these supposed to do?

    Emergency drain holes?
    Rodent escape hatch?
Why didn't Ferrari just make a solid floor?

If the car is so wet that these plugs are required to drain water, don't you have much bigger problems to contend with?

Would it be for left and right drive options? The ones not in use gromit up....maybe:) Or could it be for getting at the steering rack gator clamps? I changed my 355 gators yesterday and could have used a couple of access ports on top of the rack in the boot floor. Anyways job done now.

I think he's right, I remember pulling some black rubber plugs in the same area on my 355 when adjusting the alignment. One of them was put in upside down!

The ribbed side of the rubber faces up into the luggage compartment; the smooth side faces the earth... right?
