Congratulations! Looking forward to the pics of a great car. However, pictures of your 288 & F40 would be amazing too ;)

    Best,

    Congratulations
    More details! Please!

What's it like to drive on the street? Compare to previous Ferrari or anything else? (I have a 575 - if you have had a late model V 12, how does compare?)

Is it as much of an animal as the numbers indicate?
How would you rate the FI tranny action?
    Thanks

I thought the 360 to the 430 was evolution. The 575 to the 599 is revolution. Honestly, the 575 just became a vintage car. The F1 Superfast is beyond belief. I bought a Golf GTI last year just to play with DSG. I like this kind of thing. The 599 is breathtaking. I have about 400kms on my car now with one good workout. A friend followed me up a twisting mountain road in my Carrera GT. My 599 is new so I could not stretch it too hard but my LED's were on a fair bit. The torque is amazing (I think it can outpull the CGT on exit but the CGT soon catches up), brakes sublime and the Delphi suspension seems to work perfectly. This is a really great car. I have also spent time in traffic jams in Central Hong Kong and the F1 is very well mannered. I am perfectly happy with the standard radio. The power Recarros are a must

    Very nice, congrats.

Out of curiosity, did you go for the carbon fiber dash board, steering wheel etc..?

    Bella!

The front 3/4 view on that car is simply stunning... congratulations!

The challenge wheels to my eyes definitely suit the car better than the stock wheels...

Completely agree. Also, the 20" wheels are much better on the front

I have over 600kms on my car now. It needed service once, a part broke in the front suspension. The electronics also needed to be rebooted. After service, which only took one day, car runs great.

One great feature is that the stock radio takes a 4gb CF card. It works perfectly through the head unit. No need for the iPod kit in my view

I was very happy with performance relative to the Ford GT. I thought the Ford GT would shine on hard acceleration out of a 2nd gear corner with it's torque. I was much impressed with the grunt of the 599 even though I was short shifting as my car is still new. I think my ceramic brakes are stronger than the Ford GT's steel brakes but I can't be sure from street use

I continue to be very happy with the car. Here are a few comments:

    * standard radio is perfectly fine. Key is to adjust the settings for the crossovers
    * LED's on the steering wheel are a bit annoying if you are one-handed spinning the wheel with your palm
    * my car had to go back to the dealer to get the electronics rebooted. TFT display went crazy and after flashed that dealer codes were needed
    * I broke something in the front end (not exactly sure what but I it looked like I would need a tow truck but did not). Dealer replaced some parts and car is fine
    * I was out tearing around with an F50 and the car started to miss and stalled going uphill (a talent to stall an F1 going uphill). After I restarted it was ok but I have no explanation for what happened
    * leather rear shelf is a must in my opinion
    * leather door sills are really vulnerable to scuffs. Luckily my wife is well trained!!!
    * the radio is bloody annoying - obey traffic laws on startup
    * there are so many 599 experts who read the same magazine articles but have no first hand experience
    * car shows signs of being hard on tyres

Not necessarily concerning the 599 either...visit Vintage or Telaio sometime.
