http://www.bramleyweb.co.uk/carsales/details.asp?StockID=1587 Anybody know anything about this car? £105K - it's like 1989 all over again.
Wow, that is a chunk of change. I think 1989 was fuelled by speculators. I think 2006 is fuelled by collectors with real money. That being said, the Ferrari market rise over the last three years has been mercurial and a bit scary.
Ther are a few more 'higher' than that.... GBP118k ... http://www.cumminscars.com/dino246gts.html GBP110k ... http://www.nickcartwright.com/
Never heard of "Bramley" as a dealer, but if "1972/L" means it's a 1972 L-series, (as everyone here knows) there was no such thing. Also there were no GTS L-series. These misstatements and multiple misspellings in their very sparse ad don't engender much in the way of confidence that they know much about their car, and prob not Dinos in general.
L mean Uk reg for 1972 I think its my neighbours, if it it is very good car New to this web site and normally live in the UK Been restoring a RHD 1972 246 GTS for last 3 years Bought it in about 50 boxes Will post pictures when get back to the UK on Sunday as in Florida at the moment have had all panels replaced, not one bit of filler All fiberglass has been totally replaced Stephen
You're right. Our Dino was first registered in the spring of '74 and was an 'M' registration. I guess it depends on when the cutoff was, but as I recall (and we're talkin' 30+ years ago that I lived there), it was (still is?) August. If I'm correct, L registrations took effect in August of '72. It makes me wonder how much our immaculate, one-owner car might be worth... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Maybe it's just the silly season as 80-90% of these cars are sold in the spring here. L is the year as discussed above and the changeover was 1 August. We now have two "year" changes in new format plates. Thus this year is "06"/"56" depending on which of the two periods the car is registered in.
I just saw this nice GT for sale at $139k: http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=FE-246GT-04946
This month's Hemmings is out, the cheapest 246GTS is at the $160k level and it has several defects; - strange mouse hair on the dash, - "extra" piping on the doors, - the Daytona seats look too flat, missing the correct insert application - "updated" outside rear view mirrors, - a black steering wheel http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/ferrari/246gts/303283.html
that "strange mouse hair" is the type currently available. it has a bluish black color rather than the dark grey color of the old kind. i agree, the seats look off. without seeing the car, it could just be the photos.
