check that out. Its probably me, but that corvette is very Ferrari-esque. But at least it gets 28MPG...For $119k, i'd buy the new Ferrari Dino!

1- the rear window treatment is just like the Ferrari 599 GTB
2- The front crate grill is similar to those early Ferrari's...*250 gt0*

A maggie with a LS2 thats a cool setup. But that car has to be close to the limits on stock compression and a Maggie is only good for 15lbs from what Ive heard so they coulda went with a twin screw. But cool care none the less.

Wow, that looks really good. From those shots the back end looks even better than the 599.

i dont care for it but i dont like the 599 either.

need close ups of interior mods which is where vette is weakest. would be nice if they hand stiched leather over all the chevy plastic. a stock z06 with that alone would be near perfect for about $10k over list

i cant imagine someone hating this and loving the 599 since these cars are 85% identical

From the pics the interior doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade but I believe it is. Although it could just be the pictures. Older Callaway Models always vastly improved the interior compared to stock. Maybe a different color interior on the C16 would make the interior look better. It does seem to be a bargain though and it has a 5 year 100K mile powertrain warranty and a 5 yr 100K mile warranty on the Callaway parts as well.

More pictures can be found here.

Callaway is working on a 4.0 liter 16 cylinder Engine that will produce 550HP at 10,000 RPM's. Its dry weight will only be 334 pounds. Hopefully they can produce it and it is reliable. I am definitely a fan of naturally aspirated engines versus ones with a blower(Unfortunately for me almost all the cars I have owned had a turbo or supercharger). Check out this link for more information on the V16 engine.

How is it identical? Besides the high cost of a 599 gtb, the looks of this thing is dated imho. The current corvette, the C7, is much more eye pleasing. Wait till the Blue-Devil Corvette comes out. The point is, its still a Corvette...not that im bashing Corvette lovers.

The current Vette is a C6..not a C7. The Callaway car is supposed to have some retro hints to it...which it does. The front grill looks a little...wierd, but overall the car looks decent. And it will suck up most of all exotics on the road.

Interesting car. Callaway has allways made some amazing tuned cars. I cant decide if I like the way this car looks or not though.

Believe me, I know way too much about Callaway and the cars that they build. However, I've never been a huge fan of their styling.

    Plus it was a joke.

I think they need to add a little more flare to the interior for the price. It looks a little boring in my opinion.

    I agree on the styling...

I am a little sensitive when it comes Vettes, especially the early Callaways & Lingenfelters...

I apologize if my response seemed harsh.

Chevy (corvette) has always borrowed from Pninfarina, et al. Egg crate grill 64-67, side louvers behind teh front wheels (ala GTO). C-6 has the 456ish door treatment, this C-16 has an Astonish/550 front grill with Superamerica 599 flying buttress in rear...
Chevy has come up with some unique styling cues in the day, but they always seem to slap a few borrowed ideas on or in the mix as well.

Inline 1000cc 4 cylinder motorcycle engine (5 valves / cylinder DOHC)

Use 4 of them with one crankshaft. (80 valves!)

Good idea. Wish I'd thought of that.
