hello to all... just curious and wanted to get some basic info on a certain model s/n 0483SA i think its a '55 or '56 and wanted to know how many were produced, and any other basic info etc. i am not really specific about this s/n , just the model itself thanks edit- after searching...only one produced ??
Build on aug 1956. It's a 410 Superfast PF Speciale. There is only one ever produced in this model. Kind Regards Xander
That's not even close to accurate. 0483SA is a 410 SuperAmerica, Pf14999, it was the 1956 Paris Show Car, It's currently in the US. The only slightly different thing about it is it's Wheelbase, 2600mm but 3 other's were produced with the same W/b, and another 8 with 2800mm W/b's. There were also a 2nd SuperAmerica series of cars built between '57 & '59. FChatter "410SA" owns 0713SA - Maybe you should talk to him? thanks for the info you guys... yes i do know his model, but the one i am in question about above is a completely different model than his. one in question is a "superfast" not a "superamerica" i am starting to think XTP is correct about only one being produced. if thats true, what a shame to hear, such a wonderful car, and with only one i guess i will never own it XTP... does the car attend events where i could view in person? i would travel to any event just to see it. any info on the engine, interior and bodywork ? was the car originally owned by Jackie Cooper? and are there photos of the interior and engine bay ?? and any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again ~Ben
Yes, it's the one and only "Superfast I". You'll find most of the info you're looking for here. http://www.barchetta.cc/english/all.ferraris/Detail/0483SA.410Superamerica.htm T308
Superfast I is a very special car. Aside from the one-off bodywork, it is the only road car to have ever been fitted with a Lampredi twin-plug cylinder heads (ala Ferrari indy car). I did the last major service on it. It ran like crap when it came in. The carbs were full of rust and the throttle plate on one carb wasn't opening up. It definitely has more grunt than a normal 410SA, the motor is rumored to be a full race motor that Ferrari had lying around and dropped in for the show, I wouldn't doubt it.
