Anyone know of a clean 550 in the Midwest. Looking for a private seller to save on taxes. My budget is 90-120k depending on car, condition, mileage.

I added them when the car was shipped to me. They are the enamel factory shield. They look awesome on the car.

you know i have never been a huge fan of yellow cars, but yellow on a 550/575 looks freaking awesome.

maybe its the long hood or how well the curves show up in yellow but after viewing many different 550s/575s in all colors i have come to conclusion yellow could be one of the best colors for this model.

probably the only car i would ever get yellow though, 275s look great yellow too, i think is the long nose/hood that really delivers the impact.

Yellow really does look though the price seems on the high side for private seller. On ebay I found a blue 99 550 with 17k miles listed for 95k and buyer would take 90k for the car. I believe he is a member here. I am assuming the car would probably need a major and any other necessary service. Is this a fair price?

    90k for a 99 550 with 17k sounds like a really good price imho.

i have viewed over 75+ 550s over the past several months all over the web and have yet to see one under 95K. so thats a pretty good price, just my opinion though.

that price is probably reflecting a major service due soon.

    good luck !!

edit...if you are looking in the midwest, check out the springfield mo. area. for some reason they always have many pre-owned high value cars in that area.

I have not seen to many cars that have 7K miles in the $90's. I am interested in moving the car so if a chatter was interested in a incredible car I would come down to $110K. The major was just done and it has a TUBI. Yellow is a rare color for this car and extremely COOL!!! Any interested parties please PM me. The car is in Boston.

I have yet to see a 550 for $90K with low or high miles. I also looked for 4 months before purchasing my car. It had 20K miles on it and was NOT purchased for under a $100K.

You may be looking at a Euro car for that price, and even that seems low.

Where is this car agian? And who is selling it?

I'm sure I've seen this car for sale several times over past year--as someone noted, its pics are from when it was for sale in Florida earlier this year. Infact, it seems everytime someone says "I'm looking for 550" this car seems to show up. Why is it being flogged once again--because its yelllow?

The car is as I said... I questioned it too.. only thing is the 17k miles. but lets face it it almost 7 years old. I had a ppi done everything. All I kept hearing was if you dont buy it I will. Ilooked at a few 99-00's one car was a 99 with 9k I could of got it for $105,000. but decided the history an all the services on the 00 with 17 k miles was well worth the 20k discount

17k miles is nothing, does it have any options?

    250GTE Shelf
    Fiorano
    Carbon Fiber
    ?

A friend is looking for a 550 right now, if this is close at all to market, than he will prob opt for a highly option model.

I am still shocked to here that a 550 was purchased from a Ferrari dealer for $84K. Who is the sales person as I will buy my cars from him at those prices...

$84K for a 2000 550 would be (and quite frankly IS) an unbelievable price. As I was shopping for my current 2000 550, I offered a fairly well known wholesaler $120K for a 2001 550 with around 15K miles or so and he turned it down, saying he had more into the car than that... and this was only 3 months ago or so.

Is the car in question US spec? I've seen Euro cars in the mid-high $80's (but not 2000 cars)

Regardless, good for you... a good deal regardless if it's US spec or not.

85k seems like an unreal deal for those miles especially, it was probably a euro spec car which i would actually prefer as they are lighter and exhaust is different. Prices seem to drop pretty heavily in wholesale market. I am sure dealers try to sell them at 25k premium after reconditioning and major services.

Thanks for the pms but the prices seem to be closer to retail than wholesale. If I am going to pay retail, it makes more sense to buy from dealer so if something goes wrong early on they will cover help cover it.

    Tomchou,

I live about 5 miles from Continental. I actually sat in your car and started it up about a week before you bought car. I was considering buying the car but I like buying private out of state to save on taxes. Maximum tax in IL for out of state private party purchase is 1.5k, thus saving in excess of 6k. Anyways the car was very clean and continental backs up there cars if anything major goes wrong.
