What do you guys recommend ?

I figure that before I expend hours studying the various product offerings out there I'd ask here.......

For some background, I am a sole proprietor, with a 1,000 + customer client base, selling about 100 + exotic cars a year. I am at the point where the good 'ole "Mark 1" pen and paper just doesn't cut it anymore.........and Outlook is a PITA from what I can determine and doesn't really fulfill my needs anyways.

A program where I could track clients by vehicle ownership, vehicle search requests, as well as name/address,etc would be ideal.

Any of the dealers here got any suggestions regarding what you are using now, or looking at buying ? Most of the systems offered in the trade paper "Automotive News" are too expensive and geared for large franchised operations, and also priced for them incidentally, which I am not.

Tell me what you need and how much you're ready to pay for it.

    Maybe there's a match...maybe not.

    Gougoul..........

I will spend up to $4-500 CAD............and as far as what I need goes.........well...........here's some ideas.

1-If I need to source a certain car it would be nice to input that requirement into a search function on the database and it would pull up a list of my clients who owned that kind of car, regardless of where they were initially catalogued in the program.

2-If I had a list of clients looking for a certain car it would be nice to have them categorized accordingly by car type, yet not seperated from the master list, so as to implement a much more targeted e-mail marketing system.

3-I would like to be able to file my dealer contacts much more efficiently than is done now.......etc....etc......

Some sales people and IT types on another BB I frequent have all pretty much suggested ACT ! like abster did.......but as I only posted this today, I will wait for more replies and do some research before buying next week.

    Thanks for your help........

Hopefully some of the dealers here will have some ideas as well........

you could make your own program in MS access, in a few days if you know what your doing... although the larger the database the slower it goes... and its microsoft... and its access which sucks...

but there must be some company that can make the program suited to how you want cheaply?? what your asking for is pretty much a mod of most programs to how you want it... that isnt too hard, finding someone to make... you got me there
