well, then your engine is in poor health or wasn't tuned right in the beginning. Or maybe your ignition is whats going out of tune, not the carbs... Carbs are nuts and bolts and holes and stuff, and they don't go out of "tune" on their own... diagnosis is the secret.. a stuck float or worn needle valve is NOT out of tune for example.... dirt in an idle jet is not out of tune, leaking accel pumps are not out of tune... get it... they can go wrong of course... but they don't go out of tune....
whos gorgeous burgundy Daytona did i see outbound on the monash 8am today? club permit plates, stunning looking OHOS
Hello all - back from my small excursion to the western suburbs of Sydney up a creek somewhere...not many Ferraris out that way except for a 156/85 and a Dino 206S (is it genuine? It's got a chassis plate but looks too 'new' if you get what I mean). Only other F cars I saw were the ugly red 599GTB as seen previously and a yellow 355 Berlinetta. Lots of lovely Lotus, Brabham, Elfin Formula cars however. How gorgeous is the Dawson Damer Lotus 25...and what fantastic history too. I think that was my favourite for the weekend. Good to see a Tyrrell 004 and a McLaren M23 run as well. Also Sir Jack's 1966 BT19 and '67 BT24 cars going too, along with Matichs etc. Got Frank Gardiner's autograph too - that man is a legend and should write a book! I'm running out of 'free' photo space, but I'll try and get some pics posted up once I liberate them from my camera. It was nice to go to a race meeting where the tintop cars didn't dominate the scene, although it was good to see the Geoghegan ATCC winning Mustang (67, 68 & 69 I think) in action and going well. A good event that needed more spectators. If you were in NSW and didn't go - shame on you!
Its not burgundy, its Rosso Rubino. Good to see that Ian's car is being used, even if the bugger sold it before I had a chance to borrow the headrests so I can make a mold of the backing piece. My headrests were chucked out in 1978 and I'm painstakingly assembling the parts to recreate them. Anyone else know an owner who might oblige? Its also a business opportunity for someone, there are easily 100 Daytona owners who would pay US$2K+ for headrests. Last real set made $5K on ebay.
Saw place, 2 days in a row, 2 different F-cars. Corner of Wetherby and Doncaster Road, 348 and a 308. I do really like the 348, it's a looker.
City Rd Southbank this morning - red hairdresser F430 with heritage plates '40' what would these low-number double digit ones be worth??
nothing when the new state govt law comes through.Word is all plates under 1000 will be returned to the govt for palcement on govt cars.
Welcome to the Peoples Republic of Victoria ! Bastards would do the same here except all the labor powerbrokers have investment plates too. You need some of our blokes to show your lot how its done. e.g. be premier for 10 years, approve dumb projects that make money for Macquarie Bank, resign before you get found out and pick up a 2-bar-per-year job at Macquarie Bank.
and sell of to Mac road tunnels.Go down in history as the worst Premier yuo have had, what type carr does he drive.
na kidding.BUT years ago like the 60s the Lib govt of the time starting recalling low # plates, remember about 10 yers ago govt auction of plates well that was them.True story my father had at the time plate #s 87, 130, and 221.He was not a happy camper.
good investment, don't know about now a days but years ago you could not sell the plate,so get around the vic roads law ,people sold the plate with a car.
These days there is a form that you lodge with VICROADS to register your "ownership" of the plate. I think they call it a "right to display". The value is in this and not the plate itself. The plate costs about $200 a set to have re manufactured. I had spare sets of mine made, they hang on my office wall.
so that's what PROVA means (obviously the A being Aust) and didn't bloody Carr not even have a license ?
good that J.A can work his love and attention to detail on a already nice car.Just means i'm futher down the line
