True, bloke was a complete dweeb. Because he was an ex-journo he got a dream run from 80% of the media, particularly the SMH and ABC TV. They look after their own. Reality was that he was a master of spin but very, very short on substance. His move to Macquarie was the definitive act of Labor party hypocrisy.

Scott would many of the vitreous plates you see on cars these days still be the originals, or would a lot have been remade by now?

I would imagine there are very few original issue plates around now. Not that it matters, because the reproductions that I have are superb enamel jobbies just like the originals. You can also get the reproductions in various sizes which can be useful.

What? A hypocritical Labor Party politician? Surely not...I thought they were all at one with the workers/comrades! Was nice of Mr Carr to shoot through and leave all you NSWailers with stuffed roads/rail etc. I thought it was a bit rich to contribute to your M4 motorway a few times over the weekend and it was still an average quality road. Potholes on a tollway?? Give me a break...

I thought the M7 or westlink or whatever it's called Etag thingy is a nice scam..... I was driving from Melb to GC from the Tassie rally and when you get on the M7 there is a number to call but it is of no help so I get on the website to pay the bill but they only allow you to pay if you have an Etag already (wtf!? if I've got an etag why would I need to go to thissite ?)

anyway on this website it says just wait until you receive the invoice in the mail and then get on the web for Bpay.

the bill arrives and the cost for the M7 is like $2.20 BUT the cost of sending the letter is $10 admin charges, total $12.20, no big deal but imagine the thousands of people this happens to and it turns into a nice little earner seeing as how it is all automated

whatever happened to paying the money as you get off or on these bloody mways

    yeah thought so.

personally id see getting them in 'alternative sizes' as defeating the purpose. the originals are what they are!

kinda like the silly folk you see getting around with the new SLIMLINE euro plates now....i think theyve totally missed the charm of the euro plate being an 'oversized' design

I could've bought Q27 and Q28 at one stage for $1000.....but had to take a 200B Datsun (included) to get the plates.

    Couldn't see the value, who wants a 200B? :(

ROFL :D ....Jon, that is classic :D

Those plates sold for $4000 and $3500 respectively in 1985

Given our last ph call, you have probably worked out which plate I just acquired ;)
