Well, lately I've been thinking just about the importance of "credit".

A couple of years ago i had my identity stolen (much easier then you'd think is).. so my credit was run amuck. I'm still trying to fix everything but it got me thinking, of just not using credit cards or "credit" anymore.. (besides the obvious home purchase, etc..).

Currently I bring in about 10-12k a month after those lovely taxes I pay. Now, while working with my father's commercial real-estate agency.. I can get anywhere to a gross income of 500k+ annualy.

At this type of income (and I'm sure quite a few of you just may bring that much in), just how much do you rely on credit? I personally LOVE paying cash for things, and not having to pay any sort of "percentage rate"..

what's the point if you can afford it.

So my question is, how many of you here rely on nothing but your actual checking account to pay for things?

    thanks guys :)

Paying cash for things is nice. Carrying around a ton of cash is not.

Are you "Matthew L84" on the LP forum? The same guy that wrote:

"Well, after much research and test drives I have come to a decission. I dont want a vehicle that I can't trust.. it seems that a ferrari will just be far too much of a "garage queen" then it will be a drivable beast. I want a car that I wont mind putting a few miles on. So I have been looking into 04 Gallardos ( e-gear ) and was wondering, just what can I expect as far as up-keep and service goes with the Gallardo? I like the Gallardo becaause of it's look and style (not to mention the 490bhp v-10), not to mention the fact that it's not so much of a "nancy" car."

    and

"The Gallardo of course is an Exotic (a beautiful one at that).. and well, the GT is just flat out MEAN.

and no, NO ferraris in my stable."

Yikes!! Careful when you write stuff like this, "At this type of income (and I'm sure quite a few of you just may bring that much in)..." -sounds kinda egotistical and I'm sure you're a nice guy.

Confused on whether you take in 10-12k a month or 500k annually, but if it was 500k then that's more than what you paid for your Condo back in 2005. Did you pay with Cash? You should know what to do, you did take out a loan of $372,000.00 for it.

    Nice.
Flag goes up when someone jumps from $180 K a year to $500K. Sometimes the internet is a very bad thing.

I always pay cash when it's legal and when it isn't I still try.

I have 1 cc for online, 1 cc for in person purschases {for more cash than I am able to access at that time} and 1 line of credit that can buy anything I might need and of course can't get access to from the bank.

I just slimmed down the banking system, it makes everything easy and simple. No fuss no muss.
