He's following in the footsteps of Juan Pablo, hopefully he's better than his father and as good as his grandfather.

After hearing about his race at the indy 500 it should be interesting to see how he fares in Jerez. Maybe he'll land a 2008 seat?

I was lucky enough to have lunch with former Indy 500 winner Jerry Grant recently. He's knows the Andrettis well and made that same statement.

Marco apparently has his grandfather's talent. If Honda can build a decent car and offer him Kelsey Grammer's race seat, we should finally have another American world champion.

I would love to see him get a racing seat in F1. A competitive American driver would be great to see in F1. I wish him the best of luck!

COOL! I would love to see him do well, would be a big step getting F1 mentioned yet alone popular in the US. Him getting passed on the final lap at Indy sucked for him, but made me a fan of his for not wrecking the other guy in the faster car.

As political as F1 is these days I think it wouldn't take much for the stars to line up for Marco. He has the talent, the name, and is an American. F1 wants more exposure here and needs someone with legitimate talent and caliber. Marco has it. Scott Speed on the other hand is still a question mark in my opinion.

Yes I agree. But I don't see Scott Speed developing into anything more than he is now... with Marco we will soon know if he "has it" not.

I agree, Speed has topped out. Marco will create real buzz in the media for F1 in the states.

Considering the value of the American market to Honda and Toyota, it makes total sense for them to have an American driver in F1. I agree that Speed is not the guy. Marco might be.

If he does get the chance to go to F1, he can get all kinds of advice from his dad about how NOT to do it!

    Like commuting from the states

Like complaining about not being able to get a hamburger in "Gay Paree"

Michael went in with a chip on his shoulder, and came out with a chunk of his reputation damaged

I think if were Marco, Grampa is the guy to listen to

Mario amazes me because he appears to me to be one of those guys that is all-American and yet also very Italian. If Marco can capture that continental attitude and have an appreciation for things international, he will go far.

Marco has what it takes and F1 here in the States would benefit with him in the series. Let's cut Micheal some slack he got screwed when he signed for Mclaren there was a testing ban right after that and he didn't have enough time in the car plus his ex-wife has a real pain. Senna said he had the talent just lacked F1 seat time. If you remember there was that debate going on back then on who's better f1 drivers or cart drivers, with Micheal signing to drive for Mclaren it was a great time for F1 to have test ban. I watched Micheal drive that Indy 500 race when it was super cold and his car falled him at the end when a belt came off. He drove with Balls nobody could touch him everybody else was crashing or struggling. He was great at being quick on cold tires. Jeff on the other hand was the only one that didn't have what the other three have. Marco will do just fine.

    Hello,

I always wondered what was Michael's f1 story. Is there any thing out there that goes all the way into it? His talent was as high as anyones. It just didnt make sense the way it all came apart.
