Is the "remember you're not Michael Schumacher" Sticker real??? I saw that before but I thought it was a fake!?!? So has every Enzo this sticker??? If yes where is it placed??
Yes, the sticker is real... No, every Enzo does NOT have that sticker... That is the ONLY Enzo with that sticker... The owner put it there...
All, Form the last time I spoke with Bob he is getting a 430 Spider. The 430 is more driveable and easier to use. Bob got rid of a lot of his other cars simply due to not being able to use them as he likes to. The engine number for the new engine is the same as the old...don't ask me why or how..it just is..from the Factory that way. Bob is a super guy and loves to talk Ferrari...so if you ever get the chance to talk with him...he has great stories and a wealth of knowledge Ciao' Steve Jones www.sportauto.cc
Steve, do you know if he was only getting the Spider? I was told by one of the salesmen that Mr. Rapp had purchased a 430 Coupe and Spider, both red. He wasnt sure if he was going to keep them both or sell one.
Was the original engine removed, shipped to the factory and repaired...? If so, then there would be no need for a new engine and that would explain why the engine number is the same... Also, if you don't mind my asking, how do you know...?
The original engine was removed...and then shipped to the factory. The factory did an engineering breakdown on the old engine. A new engine with the same engine number was then shipped back and installed into the car. Now when it says new I am assuming brand new,but it may be a rebuild. No one will ever know for 100%. The factory could say it is new...but is it really new?....who knows ( not trying tito sound like an X-Files episode). With all that said the time it took to turn the whole remove...ship...recieve...reinstall I don't think there was enough time for them to rebuild that engine. This is all I know and all I was told....I didn't ask I was just talking with a mutal friend of mine and Bob's a few weeks ago and that is what I was told. My friend is very close with Bob and so yes it's hear-say...but very reliable. Hope that helps Steve www.sportauto.cc PS...if it is a big deal I can go by at lunch and ask the man himself
If you do go by any time soon get some pictures of the new car. And please ask him when he's taking it to VIR.
LOL, that wouldn't be half bad, but there's no need; but thank you for the offer... However, if you get the chance, maybe you could check out the new car and find out the engine number - it's pretty hard to see, but with some good light and a little patience, it's not that hard to find... Also, if you could let us all know what the assembly number is, that would be awesome... PS Tell Mr. Barney i said hello...
NNO...I am assuming you mean the new enigine in the Enzo...not the F430 he bought...correct? Steve PS...I will let (the other) Steve know we were conversing
Hey guys, I saw this thread and I had to reply to it. Im new here, so please dont be to hard on me. I had a way cool experinces in seeing Bob Rapps Enzo a couple of times. I was a Student in Greensboro and I lived on Bridford Pkwy which is a couple of Miles away from the FCI dealership taht used to be on Wendover. I was heading to class one evening and spotted what looked like a race car in the showroom. Intrigued, I had to turn around to get a closer look at this. To my surprise when I arrived It was the Yellow Enzo with Tan Interior and the coolest thing is that they had the sticker taped to the window. I believe the car was $658,000 or something like that. I had never seen anything like it in my life. I called my girlfriend, friends, mom to let them know what I had just seen. Of course none of them are car enthusiast as I am, but they let me have my moment. I have also saw him driving the car on Lee St in Greensboro just Like I was driving my Nissan Sentra. Dont worry guys I have since upgraded to an Acura lol. I was lucky enough to pass the Firestation on Battlegrond Ave when they were doing the photo shoot for CD (pure coincidence). At the time I was on my way to work and wondered what the heck was going on then sometime later I saw the Mag and had to buy it. The car was also on display at SportAuto at one time. Unfortunatley I didnt have a chance top go see it. Steve, let me say I love the dealership and the way you converted the firehouse to that showroom is Amazing. I have driven to Summerfield a couple of times and dreamted of pulling up and Purchasing a Car from you.I will Someday. I read an article about you in the Greensboro paper once and it detailed how you started working on cars I think in Italy and came back to the States and helped star FCI. Sorry if Im incorrect just going off memory. I also think I saw you in G'boro one time in a Tan Murcielago on Battleground (the first time I actually saw one). Thanks for that way cool experience. I hope I didnt bore you guys too much. P.S. The only Ferraris I own are diecast I hope thats OK Stretch
Stretch, Welcome on Fchat. Its shared stories like yours that make Fchat a friendly place to be during work hours ... I hope you enjoy your stay and no worries with the die cast..you seem to be sufficiently enthusiast about Ferraris ! Have a great stay..
Penske Wynn has a triple black Enzo currently on consignment for 1.3mil I think. It has something like 350 miles.
last time i talked to the guys at FCI about Mr.Rapp"s enzo they siad he was selling it because he was getting an F430 spider and that had 2/3 the power. abotu the two f430's a coupe and a spider in red. Mr. Rapps cars have always been yellow with tan interior every time i have seen them. I have seen him in his F430 spider a couple of times over at FCI and at VIR. never even heard of him owning a coupe. He is such a great guy had a couple awsome convos with him liek some other guys on here said if you get a chance to talk with him definitly do he loves talking ferrari's and is just in general and awsome guy
The problem is not that it is on its 2nd engine, the problem is all of the Enzo's out there on their FIRST engine. Since I made an attempt to buy an Enzo earlier this year, I did alot of research on this issue. The short story is the problem with this Enzo is the same problem suspected on EVERY Enzo motor. It is a design and material failure. This Enzo, and approximatley 5 others in the US had engines replaced with new ones from FERRARI spa. Several others had the engines rebuilt at the dealership level. This is an issue, according to my sources, that EVERY Enzo will face. It is my opinion, that this car, and the 4 other Enzo's with the upgraded valve train, are worth MORE, not less, than Enzo's with the original engine. Luckily, for those 5 owners, these engines were replaced under warranty, for most Enzo owners from this point forward, it will be an expensive repair. This is a great Enzo, it is one that I wanted! If I could just sell my 60' Hatteras it would be in my garage right now!
I remember you talking at the 2004 USGP about how you wanted to buy an Enzo. I was the one that said, "thank you for that special treat" after you started up your f40. YOU probably dont remember that though. At least im pretty sure that was you.
Your car got me hooked on ferraris! My dad said thanks, and i was with him, i had red short hair. You probably dont remember though.
