Ran perfectly fine on sunday.. Tried to start my car last night, everything fires up as usual when you go "on" position with the key, abs pump runs, I can hear fuel pumps going etc. I Turn to start, engine turns over, starts to run (1 sec max), fires a couple of times, and dies. Almost like it starts to run but cant idle and dies. Very rough when its doing it. No Check engine, No Slow down. This repeats every time. So far, Ive disconnected the battery, and turned it back on... Same result. Where do I start?
It does sounds electrical..See if you can PM Brain Crail-he would be the best to answer that question
MAF sensor plug. If MAF is disconnected or loose, it'll do just what you said-shuts off fuel pump as soon as car starts. Most likely, but could be more.
Any other idea's? My dad thinks its the battery - Thursday/Friday was the first REALLY cold day of the year for us. Not enough cold cracking amps?
If it is anything like that, then you should rebuild your alternator. The runs off the alternator, the battery is just to start it up.
Started twice today, no problems. Im guessing the battery was just cold. Probably time to replace. Thanks for the replies.
Glad you got it sorted. I can not stress enough to invest in a Battery Tender. It will keep your battery conditioned. Then you can rule it out as a problem. There are many things that will stop a 355 from starting.
