Selling my '01 996 Turbo if anybody is interested

If anybody is interested, I recently put my '01 Porsche 996 Twin Turbo up for sale at a very good price. Run a quick search on Ebay for other '01 Turbos and you'll see that mine is a better deal than most others due to the fact that it has 15,600 miles on it, which is very low for an '01, yet most selling prices are all similiar to mine even though most have as much as double or triple the mileage.

Are chips made to bump the HP on these ? I think the X-50 factory package is basically a software remap. (?)

Wow garage sale at Jeff's house. First the 430 not the 996. Need to make space for the spider or are you replacing the TT with something else. Love the car btw, if I were at a different place than I am right now I'd be a buyer. I have some friends who may be interested...you are right the price is very good.

 

www.goapr.com makes a 911 turbo chip. Bumps HP to 500

 

Chips are the most efficient way to boost power on 996tt's. The foremost tuner for chips is AWE who supplies GIAC software. With chip and exhaust you'll be putting out over 500hp.

As for the X50, it's much much more. The X50 cars have bigger turbos and intercoolers, as well as a slightly "beefy-er" transmission. Porsche rates them at 444hp (compared to non-X50 cars' 420hp) but many have dynoed well above that.

Vic, othert than an ad on Ebay a couple of months back, the only other outlet I've tried selling it through so far was Roy. I figured I would let him list it on his website for a few weeks to give him first crack at it since he's such a good guy. He helped my brother sell his Gallardo with such ease and has always been nothing but a gentleman to everybody I've ever talk to, including myself.

Michael & Paul, I actually got my Range Rover Sport exactly one year ago, which became my new daily driver, but when when Spring rolled around I really didn't want to part with my Porshce, so I sort of procrastinated on selling it. Then I got a Maserati Coupe in August and really really didn't need the Porsche, so I finally got off my arse and tried to sell it by putting an ad on Ebay, which basically drew a few people looking for almost insulting prices. Then during a quick Indian Summer we had, I took the Porshce up to Somerset and realized how much I loved it, so I didn't want to sell it again, lol. That's sort of where I'm at now. The 430 Spider is coming in Feb-Mar and I still have the RR, as well as the Maserati, so I'm reluctantly selling the Porsche because it will rarely get driven next year. To be honest though, if it doesn't sell, I won't be too disappointed.
