TSO always puts on an amazing show.. It's one of our biggest sellers this time of year. Caught them in Cleveland last weekend and it was awesome!

This will be my 2nd year going to see TSO. I nabbed 6th row center seats from StubHub for the 12/16 showing at the Wachovia Center in Philly. I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone who enjoys the Christmas season check out their show. Also, I'm glad you said that they are playing louder, last year I think they held back.

This was the west coast group, there are two complete orchestras touring this year. Maybe the group you saw had a better sound crew.

They were plenty loud, so loud that I saw a great many people leave (some with kids) half way through the show because the volume kept increasing. People were actually holding their hands over their ears. The younger kids all the way in the back of the arena were also holding hands over ears.
The orchestra (strings) were completely drowned out throughout the entire show.

The vocals were more than loud and full of bass making it hard to understand the words. The enunciation was mushy from lack of treble.
Because of that I missed the tragic story of the X-mas in Sarejevo.

Am I fan? HELL YES!! Just cut out the "Rolling Stones" productuon values of "louder is better" and make use of ALL of the beautiful instrumentation on stage.

Louder is not always better. It ends up becoming NOISE more than anything else.

It just didn't need to be that loud!!

Next time I am bringing ear plugs.

Sounds like a crappy sound team to me. We get the east coast group naturally, and my first show was from the 12th row left floor section. I was concerned it might be pretty loud up there but it wasn't as loud as acts like Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Robert Cray, etc. who had "good" volume. All in all, I hope they turn it up a few decibels this year.

PS - Remind me somewhere around the 15th to get liquid flame retardant to apply to my eye brows. Last year the pyrotechnics nearly singed my eyeballs out and I'm twice as close to the stage this go around :)

I was towards the back center. That may have had something to do with it. Possibly having more speakers pointed directly at me.

A SUPER show that had alot of SOUL. I'll go next year for sure!!

I am a huge fan of rock, orchestra , remember Electric Light Orchestra? Emerson Lake and Palmer.....................Pink Floyd for that matter.

Just saw them on TV this morning in a much smaller setting. They are going to be at American Airlines Center in Dallas this Saturday night. I am thinking about going.......

They are going to be in Columbia, S.C. on Wednesday night this week.
