Anyone has any idea of how many seniors use the internet ?

So far i found that 18M of 55-64yo and 9M of 64+ are internet users.

Wow. That is really interesting. I never would have thought seniors (no offense) would actually use a computer. I'm guessing most of the seniors who use computers are the one's who are financially free. Others would still work in order to pay for their daily living. Good find!

I'm not surprised about that. Computers are fairly easy to use. Even my 7 y/o sister knows how to use simple programs on the computer.

My grandmother keeps saying she wants one. First off, what is she going to need one for? Second, it would only frustrate her; she has no experience with technology other than a phone and tv. It's definitely easier to understand how tech. works when you grow up using it, rather than just trying to jump in.

My neighbor got a mac and is in his late 60's he is now obsessed with the internet and is having a ball. If he has a problem he just restarts lol. It is nuts, and in the last year (kids set him up last christmas) he is now a wiz. I get emails from him time to time asking me how things are at school. No offense to them, but some of our most respected members in the vintage and other sections are seniors and avid computer users.

What??? EHH, let me shuffle over to the night table and get my trifocals so I can read that little bitty TV lookin' screen. I don't know about you young-uns but I have a lot of trouble hitting the right keys on that typewriter board in front of that TV screen. I been usin' this thing for a few years now. Someone told me that I should upgrade from this Commodore 64 and try some kind of Diesel stuff. At least I think he said Diesel or something that sounds like it.

Well, this has taken me an hour to type and it is time for the Lawrence Welk Christmas reruns so I better go get me a glass of Sherry and join the Missus in the den. I hope I don't fall asleep before the bubbles start.......................
