    It seems that my right front shock or spring is squeaking going over bumps or the dips around houston, and I was thinking of putting in new shocks. (though interestingly it seems much more pronounced when the car is cold and when I'm just starting to drive. after if warms up, it seems to me that there is less squeaking. might be my imagination since I didn't know that temperature affects shocks, but I swear over the same roads it's not as bad after I'm driving for awhile)

    anyway
    I saw some past threads about koni and references to NOS. Isn't there anything newer or better our there than 30 year old shock technology. I'm in a driver not concours (whatever that would be in a 308 GT4) so I'm more interested in getting the best ride and bang for the buck, rather than originality. Saw some reference to a nissan shock.

    anyone out there put in a more modern after market shocks or spings?

    sources for this stuff? (in the US)

    If you're aiming for top of the heap, you should consider this racingsuspension from Intrax. It's made of titanium but is also available in the more common (!) heavier steel version. They have a huge amount of adjustability. Intrax racingsuspension is worldleader and the manufacturer is also the holy father of White Power shocks. They are also active in the F1 scene. Susp. is fully warranted and delivered at your very detailed personal wishes and when later improvements should appear, your suspension will be updated if you wish.
    I'm very satisfied with my 80% track adjustability on my '76 fiberglass Euro drysump 308. It has a roadholding that easily withstands comparison with a modern Ferrari.

    3000 euros is a bit over my budget. I've got a 66 vette and I think the bilsten (or blisten, can't remember the exact name) are under 300 for the fronts, and they're supposedly top end for the vette. That's more my neighborhood, and it's hard to believe that there isn't something modern, better and cheaper than koni NOS.

    The 300, I mensioned are for the Titanium and includes complete square setting and wheelalignment for individual usage.

    A set of steel would set you back the half without the settings done for you.
    Here, in Germany, the quality of roadholding is much more needed. And a comparison with a Vette, a car that looks great, would be ridiculous out here because these cars have that T-Ford lookalike rear axleconcept. It's also important that you realise that a midengined car needs a total different setup. As money concerns, I believe that a Ferrari should be worth a serious investment in parts when one tries to improve things. Every investment purely based upon saving money is far from te essence of this beautiful marque. I'm very critical with every change or improvement I make. This does not imply that I throw money in the river. If I can save a dime, I'm in for it.
    So, practically, get used to the fact that you're driving a Ferrari.

    Rick for every day street use the Konis are fine.If you are considering tracking the car then maybe you could try other brands.Do a search and there are a few other people on the board that have chaged there shocks for aftermarket.Front Konis arent that expensive.They're around the $300 mark.The rears are harder to find though.Just another thing regarding the squeaking how are the bushes?Is the squeaking coming from the bushes?
