Jim, I don't know if you are aware but the P4/5 got a mention in the Dec EVO magazine, in Gordon Murray's editorial. Good words for a great car and it was beautiful to see it at Pebble!!

Dang I missed out on that one. I've requested that they notify me next time they have an Enzo available, it kind of slipped my mind that I should let them know my agem so I'll see how that works out. :p

I did see the 599 yesterday though, gorgeous car. Brought in, displayed for not even the full day before being delivered to the owner. Gotta love those lines, and if you haven't seen it in person I could easily see why you don't like the lines since I didn't much like it at the beginning either.

Like I've said before I don't have many ways to get around, but my permit is burning holes in my pocket just sitting here. :D

Thanks Townsend. It's great to see any clips of the P4/5.

Jim, I hadn't noticed any exhaust pipes down in the diffuser area until I saw this clip. I always thought that the exhaust would exit out of the tips above the rear of the car. Is there a bypass valve?

    Hi

Yes. Below 3K rpm's it exits out of the bottom so that you don't burn anyone who walks behind. At 3K all flow shunts to the upper pipes.

Just a few questions for our 'Honorary Member.'

    - Within this project Jim, what was the most difficult part to achieve, or develop?

    - Castriota told me that he had to convince you in order to take his more modern look for the car, and not the retro scheme that you had originally been partial to.

    - I'm aware of your daughter's input into the project, and must say, that having seen it first hand, the fabric choice goes with the modern theme for the car. What other aspects; besides the unlimited support, was your family involved in?

    - Modern super cars have their own feel to them, if you will. They certainly aren't making them like they used to. However, with cars like the 599, you don't have to go all out Pagani, to drive something extraordinary and up-to-date. What stops you from further pursuing a collection with any newer pieces?

    - What about taking the 'Frank Mountain' route? ;)

Ted West's Car and Driver really covers the how and why.

As for a daily my current is a Maser Coupe and my next one will be an Alfa 8C
so I do like modern cars for everyday use. I also like my wife's Turbo Cayenne.

Jim, have you thought about a lap time comparison between p4 and p4/5?
I think that would be very interesting to see the difference.

As we're coming up on the 40th anniversary of 1967 I'm trying to put a road test of 0846/0854/J6/P 4/5 together. Maybe we can get Dan Gurney to drive J6, Nanni Galli to drive 0846, Rene Arnoux to Drive P 4/5, Geral Larousse to drive 0854 and Jim Hall to drive his car. That would be something.

If nothing else you could have "Townshend" drive one of the cars. I'm clearly within their league. :D

In all reality, if something like this got setup, I am THERE.

That would be amazing. I'd put money on which car would win overall :D

Try to do it in California somewhere, you have a big fan basis here you know. ;)

IMHO it would be very nice for those else in the Ferrari community without the advantage of being there, as it were, to have it televised. I am sure that SpeedTV would have a slot (if arranged) to fit this into an episode of CarCrazy or something to that effect...

Hi Jim - I apologize if this has been requested before (I did try to search for it first)... but do you have any pics of the P4/5 next to the P3? :)

The link to the German TV show shows P 3/4 0846 and P 4/5 together and compares them visually.

That is the one thing I hate about all of these. I'm going to have to send these to a friend to get them all translated :p
