Per Autosport: Fernando will begin his career at McLaren today with testing at Jerez. Meetings that concluded very late last night led to an agreement bewtween Renault and McLaren. Rumors are these negotiations were between Briatore and Dennis, and that other team personnel were precluded from the talks "for security reasons". The first laps were turned this morning at 9 AM, Spain. Alonso was required to wear a plain white helmet, plain white race uniform, and only had the Spanish flag on his belt. The MP4-21 had all of its sponsor decals removed. I ask again, will Ron Dennis now release Kimi to Ferrari? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Certainly not if Ferrari doesn't even request it! F1 is business as pretty much every other top level sport...
All this "secret stuff" and it's announced what he'll be wearing and what the car will look like . . . duh???? It seems better to have him wear Pedro's helmet (or a duplicate for FA) and drive Pedro's car if it's such a big thing . . . Carol
There probably two contracts here. One with Briatore and FA - that FA is Flav's driver and can't drive for anyone else. Second is between Briatore and his sponsors that Renaults's drivers wouldn't wear anybody else's advertisements. Ron and Flav negotiated their way around First contract, but can't do anything about second.
Why should he? If he and Flavio worked something out, how does that expend to Kimi and Ferrari? Ron and Flavio only have thier hate for Ferrari in common.
Now it is too late for Ferrari to ask for an early release for Kimi. This year's testing is all done.

We all wish he did, if Flavio extends the curteousy of having Alonso test, why would Ronny do the same with Kimi. If you are asking for something that you are unwilling to do, why even ask.
I don't think releasing Kimi at this point would make any difference seeing as how the new year is approacing so fast. I for one can't wait to see Kimi in a red jumpsuit.

When you look closely you can see some green numbers running down the inside of the helmet and little children sticking out of the McLaren's side pods.
Sorry, no obscurity for Fernando. Ever. Having been the youngest to ever win a championship, and beating MS two years in a row (that's what really hurts you guys) will make sure of that. Julio
