The following 1991 348TS is just popped up for sale just down the road from me in the Autotrader.

    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=213840020&dealer_id=57343191&car_year=1991&model=348GTS&num_records=25&make2=&start_year=1981&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&search_type=both&distance=25&make=FER&color=&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=33782&advanced=&end_year=2007&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=3

The carfax reports shows the last mileage was about 33600 miles about 4 years ago (only 3400 miles in 4 years and no reports since then?). Is this normal/OK or is it a big problem. TIA

    Future Ferrari owner,
    Tom

There should be an annual entry as the car tag is renewed each year. Track cars, wrecked cars, and cars owned by dealers (or unscrupulous people dodging state taxes) will not have those annual entries, however.

Just make certain that the car has a current, valid license plate (so that you won't be liable for back taxes).

I think that is okay. I drive my car about 1000 miles per year also. In Florida you don't report your mileage during your tag renewal with the DMV. You just fill out that you have insurance and you get the new sticker. Seems like a pretty good deal. Asking $45k, they would probably sell for $41k. Nice car, I'd go check it out and test drive it for at least 45 minutes. The engine should show some hiccups if there is a problem within 45 minutes.
    Good luck!

I smell a rat on this one. Not enough pic's on the site. It's worth looking at, but don't get your hopes up. If is truely a needdle in the haystack, jump on it. I have my '92 348ts with 56K miles for sale (N. CA) and am starting to get calls at $45K. I did note the ad stated "We'll finance anyone". Maybe not the type of lot that knows much about these cars.

all used Ferrari's look shiny on the outside - it's what's on the inside that separates the great cars from the very expensive. Why not grab a local Fcar mechanic and do a PPI with you. There's lots of threads on what to look for when shopping - most of it's not unique to 348's.

Lots of used Fcars have had accidents, and lots have repairs and majors that were just done to "resale" quality. Good enough to say it was done, but not enough to actually fix much.

Good luck, and don't be afraid to buy out of state to get a good one.
