The staredown pic looks like the F40 is doing some trash talking. Might be because of the front wing on the Countach. That's a neat photo.
Actually, when I owned my F40, it sat a lot of the time sulking in the corner of my garage whilst I lavished attention upon other machines such as Countachs LP400 & S, and Miura SVs....LOL. I didnt feel like the F40 NEEDED anything from me, but with the Miuras and Countachs, Ive always felt like they NEED me.... Joe
Maybe its just me, but in 20-plus years of ownership Ive only been stranded with by one of my many Lamborghinis once. Ive owned just one Ferrari (an F40 - sorry Ferruccio!) and it also let me down once. 2 breakdowns in 20 years, one Ferrari, one Lamborghini. However, if you must know, the REAL reason I spent more time with the Lamborghinis is that I found the Lamborghini's much more interesting than the F40. One day I came out of an event and there were 2 F40s parked side-by-side. I couldnt tell WHICH one was mine, until I looked at the rear plates!! I decided it was time for it to go. My first love is the Miura SV, every one of the 147 cars hand-built is DIFFERENT. Thats what I like about them.... When I owned both the F40 and the Miura SV, the F40 was worth two times the SV. Now, many years later, the SV is worth MORE THAN TWICE the F40. I havent regretted my decision. Joe
I think I understand the feeling your trying to convey. Lamborghini's are special, especially the "real" cars. After reading many stories about the problems owners have had with their Countach's I became a lilttle leary but still bought an Anniversary car. For the first couple of months of ownership i would tell people that the most exciting thing about driving my car was that when I drove it of ouf the garage I was never sure if I was going to be driving it back in! lol Well, after about a year and a half it has not let me down. ( Knock Knock ) Neither has my diablo SV. However it took some money and good maintenance to get the Countach in reliable condition.
Youve cracked the code!!! "Money and good maintenance" are the way to hapiness for the owner of ANY classic car or exotic sports car. Lets not forget that. Of course youll be bringing your Annivesario to the Reunion.... Joe www.lamborghiniregistry.com

That LP400S doesnt need the extra front wing to keep the front end down in the turns does it??? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe, don`t agree! The F40 is a very tricky but shattering fast driver than any of the ol`Lamborghinis - because the car is more modern! From the pure driver`s side the F40 is very rewarding to drive - if you can handle the beast! A friend of mine owned one and he loved it - but it made him s**t in his pants! So - he sold it! The F40 was the last real "men-car" from Maranello! From then on the cars can be driven by everyone....! Ciao! Walter
agree! If you let your old Lamborghini -particulary the early Countach- restored or maintenand as they rolled out the Factory gates than you will have sooner or later a problem. Particulary the connection bolts of the conrods are weak as many parts with the suspension. Ciao! Walter

Walter you dont agree.....BUT I DO - thats MY viewpoint!....after all, I still have the Countach and the Miura SV, but no desire for another F40. Anyway, I agree that the F40 is exhilarating to drive, but for me the bottom line was (and is) that I find the LP & SV ultimatly more interesting, with individual character & soul lacking in their cousin from Maranello. Joe
...and here is the same car in its earlier life as the official 1981 Monaco Formula One Grand Prix Pace Car.... I love lowbodys, but I still think the LP400 is the absolute ultimate. Joe Image Unavailable, Please Login

In Japan, the LP400 is revered and written about often, and there are more examples there than in any other location world wide. Joe Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

So, with more Countach drives than some have had hot dinners, I beg the question, is it possible to get confortable in the Countach? Or are the austere surroundings simply meant to inspire fear and excitement? I think the Countach is the most imaged sports car of all time....I mean, seriously. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
