    Cool pics, by the way...

You mentioned the prices of $395k for the 430 spider...I'm just wondering, if they are not Dueck's cars...are these consignment cars / prices ?

    Great week for the Italians.

I don't remember the days, but I will try to guess:

Wednesday: Red F430 Spider in the morning on Broadway/Arbutus, parallel parking after a u-turn in front of Fitness World.
Thursday: Night time in Coal Harbour, Black F430 Coupe whipping around.
Friday: Red F430 Spider parked in front of Godiva on Robson, early evening.
Saturday: Lamborghini Gallardo (Orange) on Broadway around midnight, parked at the west end towards Alma.
Sunday: Black F430 Coupe parked in front of Godiva (SAME SPOT AS ABOVE!!) around noon.
Sunday: Black Lambo Gallardo on Pt. Gray Road.

London Motorcars has a lovely TDF/Creme F430 coupe in their showroom. :)

Well HWY 99 is clear but the roads that go into residential areas have some compacted snow on them.

I'm going again on the 27th - 2nd, when are you planning to go?

I have no idea. Gotta fix some stuff on my car first. :D

I have new tires, but they're not the best for driving on snow.

I drove slowly past the new Lambo showroom on Saturday evening after the Nucks game. The showroom is VERY small. There was only a orange Murci and Black G-spider on the showroom floor. Judging by the pics from ZZOORRKK, the garage area is quite big. I will have to stop by when its open to check it out.

Saw what looked like a rather lovely 1965 330 GTC heading North on Burrard at the Robson intersection to day. It was metallic brown, not bronze or gold, just brown and while not my first choice for a color actually worked really well on the car, a brave choice and so much better than bright red. I was surprised to see it, what with a light drizzle and zero degree temperatures, but then I noticed that it didn’t have collector plates, just regular B.C. ones, so it might even be a daily driver. Anyone know to whom it belongs?

    Hi Kram

Was your Cab Series II for sale about 30 years ago at Grand Touring (as I think it was called) on 7th Ave?

    Bingo!

Yes, my car was there in September of ‘79. It was the N.Y. showroom for Chinetti’s - Luigi Chinetti was the U.S. Ferrari dealer, and the car had been imported through his company when it had first come to America in 1960.

I was walking back home to the West Side when it caught my eye, for it was front and center in the window. I wandered in to admire it and ended up talking to the salesman, a charming fellow called Jaques Vauchier. Jaques now runs ‘L’Art et L’Automobile’ out on Long Island - and he still sends me catalogues. It took a couple of visits and a drive on the FDR to strike a deal. The funny thing was that the price was reduced when I mentioned that the front wasn’t original - and a while later I learned that it was!

If I’m haunted by anything it was that I didn’t buy up everything on the floor. There was a two tone 212 - I think - hanging about in the back of the showroom. If you were around at the time would, by chance, you remember anything about the other stock?

    Hi

Regrettably, I never saw Chinetti's showroom. The 7th Ave to which I (incompletely) referred is Vancouver's West 7th Ave. About 1974-5, I recall Grand Touring (I believe that was the company name) had what they described as a 250GTF, which looked to me like a Serries II Cab. Brown or maroon, I think. Asking price $7,000. You have a great story: test driving on the FDR and finding the fornt end was in fact, original. I too regret passing on opportunities in the 1970's when some 60's Ferrari could be purchased for abouut the same price as a new 3 series BMW. But other commitments, needs and all that. Now just wanting to find a decent local 328.

    Cheers
