    My wife bought a SI

    Here's some pics

She loves the car- agile, light, and perky (her word), compaired to the V6 Accord or the Lexus 250IS

My wife loves to drive a stick... kind of rare for most gals these days.
Its a fun car and you get a-lot-a-bang for your buck

PS- best car commerical ever- I love the Tron movie parody for the new SI ad

That car will last you about 20 years without a problem.

I love the new Civic Si. I drove one and its was way more fun than cars three times its cost.

I wish I was still in my 20s so i could justify it.

If you took them during the day outside you probably wouldn't have to worry about the flash...

Try getting some really good lighting and play with some different angles. If your camera allows you to do this, keep changing up the ISO, white balance, etc. until you get a shot that you are happy with.

    Nice car..I like the blue.

My first 'fun car' was a brand new CRX Si .. '89 I believe. I had soooo much fun with that car.

As for my owning a Civic...its funny. In my line of business what I pull up to meetings in is important ( thus I have the Benz E55 ). I cant justify having a second daily driver. But truthfully..after driving that new Civic Si..Id rather drive that everyday than the E55.

Nice. I used to sell new Hondas when those first came out, at the time we couldn't keep them in stock.

I really think in twenty years some Civic SI's & Integra Type R's will bring big money at Barrett Jackon.

    Only time will tell.

My day to day cars have been geeting ever cheaper (AMG MB --> Acura TL) and I love Hondas. Better built than an MB IMO. Although I can buy myself another new E or CLS Benz, I think the new Civic is a sweet car and would give it a serious look. All I really need is Bluetooth, sat radio and navi, which I believe the Civic has.

Something about the build quality impresses me. A lot.

Just slap a hybrid emblem on the back and claim you're trying to protect the environment or something ;) ;)

Its really not a bad looking car. I've seen a couple of them on the roads and it turned my head. How's the car treating you guys?

Here is a 6 way comparison test of the:

    Mazdaspeed 3 - First
    Subaru WRX TR - Second
    Honda Civic SI - Third
    Mini Cooper S - Fourth
    Volkswagen GTi - Fifth
Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged - Sixth

They say that if the SI had a little more power it would have ranked higher then third

My wife bought hers after reading that the Civic SI finished 5th in the "One Lap of America" over-all
not just in its class :)

We looked at the Mazdaspeed but the dash and interior were uninspiring....looked like a van.
(see stock photo for Honda's layout...note SI has red back-light on gages)
Subaru WRX- my wife didn't like the exterior looks.
Funny that some cars were faster, but the SI let you feel the speed a lot better! Sound and RPM's on this motor beg to be pushed. But with only 200 HP it only feels fast in 2nd and 3rd gear up to about 110mph... by the time you get to 4th and 5th you're starting to feel out of HP. But for around town (and under 115mph) car is way too much fun.

Thats one thing about the SI. We were down at the Honda dealer a little while ago and suprisingly they had an SI in the showroom. Sat it in, the interior is freaking cool. I have hope that Honda will send the Civic Type R to North America.

New 2006 SI- bought in July for $22,500 including sales tax and all fees. (F40 tail light cover $22.000) :)

Car now has 3,600 miles. If I had to rate the car on a 1-10 scale:

    engine - 10.5
    transmission - 10
    suspension - 9.5
    brakes - 9.5
    steering - 9
    safety - 10
    fun factor - 10
    paint (looks) - 10
paint (durability) - 7 seems new auto paints are water based and weaker?
    interior (looks) -9
interior (durability) -7 seems like they saved money in this catagory
interior room - 9 car has big trunk and lots of room in the back seat for small car
    racing style seats - 9.5
    wheels (looks) - 10
front wheel drive - 9 (I like rear wheel drive better) SI drives and feels a bit more like a rear wheel drive car
gas mileage - 6 my wife likes VTEC and drives above 6,000 RPM's (and likes the rev limiter too much) LOL
gas mileage- 8 if you keep it below 6,000 RPM's car still has good pick-up and fun to drive.

Car runs and drives perfect, but first-year-car has one small defect- on right side of the trunk, it looks like the sheet metal was cut short, and the gap near taillights is wider on right side then on left. But the top and bottom of the trunk fit perfect
(1st year fit & finish problem).

I live in Florida. But I've heard some guys up-north claim the engine needs 4 to 5 minutes to warm-up.
Not sure why? Seems to need proper warm-up in cold weather.

    Also engine requires premium gas

This is my Wife's new car... she use to drive Mazda Miata and like a car that she can toss around. She love the SI but first thing she did was remove "civic" badge because the trunk looked too busy. She likes it now with just "Honda-SI"
