Someone sent me this photo over the weekend, taken on a brunch run back in October, before I pulled my engine down for a quick valve job Gerry D's old Dino in the foreground, now owned by Geoff C. Image Unavailable, Please Login
came to work this morning and saw over the toasted ham cheese tomato sandwhiches a red Testarossa, BTW did i tell how much i love my car.
hahahaha the fourth greatest lie in the English language ..... a quick valve job fifth is ... a cheap Ferrari
well, let me think, i know the whole lot, still the pick of the bunch and yet to be delivered is the car transporter FBR
I know, I know. Parts bill so far is $15K, will probably get to $20K all up which of course doesn't include all my hours of dismantling and reassembly. I'm not looking forward to setting up and timing the cams, its a major PITA job. I have spent on cosmetic things like new braided oil hoses and all new yellow-insert nylocks ($1K just for the nuts) which go under the heading of obsessive-compulsive sad person. Every bracket and fastener on the motor will be new or replated, even the black nuts. A lot of effort but it will look pretty and hopefully won't have to be touched again for at least 10 years.
This pic ripped off nissansilvia forums...it may or may not be Marcels Image Unavailable, Please Login
see that F40? i overtook it like it was standing still on toorak rd yesterday...and i was on my 250cc scooter.......two up! pppppppppftt...OHOS!
because it WAS standing still? haha traffic was shot on chapel yesterday ppl everywhere...surprised the OHOS didnt overheat speaking of scooters PP, while we were at the cafe and getting mildly aroused by the F40, some bloke on a beautiful new vespa decided he could ride off the bluestone gutter....ended up bending his exhaust nicely
hey....there i am....next to the 355 spider......just finished a tint and a blow wave. did i mention i love my car? Alan joined us in the F40
Yes, I'll be taking pics right through reassembly, so that future owners will know what was done. Am busy cleaning and repainting all the ancillary bits at the moment. Everything caked in oil & dirt after 35 years of assorted oil leaks. Won't get block and heads back till late January, I don't expect to be driving before March.
