    while researching a new car i came across a new 997, about 5 min later a 996. after driving with each other for a few miles i really could not believe how wide it was (c4s). what a beautiful car!

    later on, i saw a 996 and i couldnt help but think how much narrower it looked. the 997 c4s looks MASSIVE compared to the 996. are the carreras that much narrower than the carrear 4 s'? the subtle design cues in 997 make a difference when you compare it to a 996.

    The 996 C4S is comparable to the rear of the 997. The 997 C4S is almost 2 inches wider than that so if you compare a 997 C4S to a standard 996 than yes, the difference is substantial.

    The same holds true for the 993 and the C4S and/or C2S. Arrwin has a MUCH wider rear end than me. :)

    Exactly what he said is correct. The 996 C2 looks TINY in width compared to the 996 C4S/Turbo, even the Base 997 looks almost or just as wide as the 996TT which is the "widebody" of the Porsche 911 series, the 997 C4S utilizes the turbo width like the 996C4s to 996TT :)
