Quickest way is the vin. Middle letter in the vin is a "B" on euro models and a "A" on US models.

On a sidenote there are some cars in the Middle East with "A" in their vins but they are not US models.

U.S. cars have the side marker lamps on the front and rear bumpers that Euro cars do not have.

Most are retrofitted with an aftermarket style sidemarker when they go through D.O.T. cert. So the way you can tell is by the shape of the marker. I wouls imagine someone will post a picture.

As noted already, 8th letter of the VIN is a "B". Most reliable way to tell.

The marker lights are often the same so difficult to tell there.

The taillights only illuminate 1/2 (verticle split) instead of full.

The license plate area is generally still shaped for euro plates.

Some Euros have headlight washers in the front bumper. Depends on headlight option.

Thermostat is in C not F. Not usualy changed so pretty reliable.

There are others but it is all pretty minor stuff.

    Correct about the switches.

Yes, the US cars have cats and pre-cats. However, euros have had them retrofitted so not so obvious.

Isnt the easiest way just looking at the speedo which will be in killometers instead of MPH?

Nope, the speedo must be changed when it comes into the states. They display MPH.
