    What a great day! :)
I FINALLY put my XOST on my 348 today. I had to wait till my dyno friend came back from holidays to run the car up for me on the rollers. :) I was very very SUPRISED with the results today. :D:D

The last time I put my car on the dyno back in March this year, I removed the exhaust all together and made some "test" pipes. That made 8.5HP extra @ the wheels. :) Sounded excellent also.

    March 2006-
    Stock-241.1HP @ the wheels and 302.5HP @ the flywheel.
Test pipes-249.6HP @ the wheels and 312.6HP @ the flywheel.
Ambeint air temp that day was 28C and engine intake air temp was 40C. Car in 4th gear.
Here is the link to all that March madness.
    :)

    December 2006-
    Stock-236HP @ the wheels and 298.1HP @ the flywheel.
    XOST-254.8HP @ the wheels and 318.9HP @ the flywheel.
Ambient air temp today was 36C and engine intake air temp was 46C. Car in 4th gear. A very hot day. :)

A whopping 18.8HP improvement at the wheels!!! :D Very very surprised and happy with the results!!! These XOST systems kick major ass!!
The stock system weighs in at a hefty 23.6kg and the XOST weighed in at 12.3kg. 11.3 kg lighter than stock twin 348 exhaust. The car sounds AWESOME now!! The way a Ferrari should sound! Whoever has not got one of these systems for their 348's............GO OUT AND GET ONE NOW!! :D:D
Thankyou Daniel at Ricambi. You are a champ! :)

Pap - sounds terrific! You're right, computer speakers don't do it justice. The X-OST tone is just "rich" and "full" -- those are the only words I can think of that convey the sound. Go for a drive; I think you'll burn through twice as much gasoline as you'll find yourself holding the revs up high, just to hear the music!

Great results, thanks for posting. Was this with your "test pipe" set-up, or with cats?

Nah never removed the cats at all ;) BIG fines down under for that

No these vids were a before and after with the stock OEM exhaust and the XOST exhaust

The "test pipe" setup my brother and I fabricated was in this Thread a few months back http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99806&page=3

Very nice. Almost 19hp at the wheels is damn good improvement. Not to mention the sound (that in itself would be worth it) .

I forgot to also mention, that the car has made another 15 lb/pds of torque throughout the entire rev range now with this XOST. :) I forgot to get that printed out, but is all on his dyno computer anyways. :)

No didn't refit the heat sheilds, enough room for ventilation now with the XOST, plus I wanted it to look shinny all the time too

A friend of mine has a 1990 348 with a tubi. He also doesn't have a heat shield in his car. He has issues with car refusing to start when hot. I think the starter motor gets cooked or something. Basically he has to wait till the engine has cooled down or get a jumpstart.

Pap -- I'd put the shields back on. In addition to keeping the tailights from cooking, they deflect heat away from the air intake hoses, thereby keeping suction temps down somewhat.

    Just my 2-cents.
