In your service booklet where the original Vin# is stamped along with the Motor # etc (a white sticker) Does your sticker read under Model 348 TB CH ? Does this mean I have a challenge car? Thank you
What's you s/n? Could mean you have a factory challenge 348. 32 tb's were made. All were '94 MY, but many had production dates in '93. Some, but not all have a # plate on the right front door frame similar to the SS. If it's a production date in late '93 and it's not an SS, then it's a '94 348 tb factory challenge.
You can check the vin# on www.redfcar.com . It's has most all the factory challenge vin#'s. If it is a challenge there should be cut outs in the carpet for the roll cage and eye hooks on the back fire wall for a clip harness.
Mine is a '94 "factory" challenge car. The warranty book says 1994 Models. Under model it says: 348 TB USA MY 94. The CH might indicate the country although I don't know which. Based on the plate on the righ door frame it says tipo 348 tb serie challenge # 4 of 32. There were 45 "factory" challenge cars made for the US market s/n 97869 - 98906 roughly. All were '94 model year. There were 32 tb's and 13 ts's (although I count 12 ts's on the challenge registry sight). All 348 (excluding the spider and 15 348 SS's) imported to the US in '94 were challenge cars. The factory challenge was not made in any other year and not for any other market than the US. Yours may have been converted challenge car with updated sticker? Essentially all 348 CH cars were converted street cars. Again if converted there should be weld mounts for the roll cage, eye hooks for the harness, challenge steering wheel, mountings for a fire extinguisher, ..... That would mean that it had raced in the series at some point though!
It sounds like your 348 was made for the Swiss market as the white sticker gives the area it was made for and CH is for switzerland. See my 348`s sticker below. Regards, Phil. Image Unavailable, Please Login
