    Hi guys,

I wish this was true! I don't think the car is in Holland now.
The ILR says seen Belgium, and Belgium registered.
Not correct, actually the plates are from France, and the car was seen at the Spa Italia event in 2004 & 2005. So most likely French or Belgium owned.

    Ciao!
    Marcello

    Ciao Marcel!!!
Bellissimo, bellissimo.....the Miura SV is clearly Lamborghini's 250 GTO!

Thanks Joe, some people say its even more beautiful than the 250 GTO, I think they are RIGHT! for me the second place goes to the LP400S S1 with the small gauges and bravo style wheels (I still regret that I didn't buy it that time...)

    Joe,

To say you are knowledgeable about the Miura is an understatement. It just so happened that I struck up a conversation with a gentleman named John at the Minneapolis airport in Minnesota about a year back (he was wearing a Lamborghini shirt). I would have to do some digging around, but I think I still have his business card, though he's now retired. He told me he owned a red Miura SV, and was planning to take it to pebble this past summer. At the time, I didn't know much about Miuras in general; this thread has certainly enlightened me a bit, and I thank you for that. I did know that it was rare and certainly very pricey.

Are you aware as to this red Miura SV's existence? I checked the lamborghiniregistry, but didn't see mention of it. It supposedly lives in one of the Minneapolis suburbs.

Recently I began wondering what happened to an old Muria that was in my state and needed some work. In a 1999 Lamborghini Owner's Club magazine it was for sale for about the cost of a loaded Suburban.

I just took a shot at the number in the ad to see if whoever bought it never got around to doing anything with it and it might need a good home.

The old seller was very nice and let me know where it went, but alas it found a proper caretaker.

    Here it is today:

Lime green is such a symbolic period color for the Miura. here is one of my ex-SVs, in 'Poison Green'....

No, not the original color. So when I restored it all those years ago I heard people say: "Over-restored, and non-original color", and you know what? They were right. And that was supposed to teach me something. I didnt whine & cry about the comments, like the owner of a certain LP400 did, responding with personal attacks on this site when the TRUTH was being pointed out...

So when I restored 4884, I was 100% faithful to its original specification, and I made sure the restoration was sympathethic and not over-wrought. I learned from my mistakes, albeit the hard (read: expensive) way, and Im proud of the results of 4884's restoration. Oh, and I used the correct mirrors too. LOL.

OK, Im off my soap-box now.

    Miura SV 4884's restoration covered:

    Body & wheels
    Interior
    Electricals

Essentially, the entire car. Everything was restored, refreshed or refurbished.

This is Miura SV 5096. It just sold for almost $800,000 to an F-Chatter and thats before taxes. It was totally restored by Gary Bobileff over 2 years and has to be one of the best restored examples extant.
What makes its story so compelling is how it was rescued (read about it on www.lamborghiniregistry.com)
Miura owners everywhere have benefitted from the dedication and effort that Bobileff has put over the past few decades into bringing these Jewels back to life. In fact, I beleive the restoration activity has helped the values of all the older Lamborghinis. Having been in the business since 1969, Bobileff is not a 'Johnny-Come-Lately' to the world of restorations and dealing with the old cars. Those of us who have been around for a while know this.
Its been a good year for the classics, and I wanted to say Grazie to the Miura Maven himself, Gary Bobileff.
