So, my folks sent their annual care package, which once again includes a fairly new little traditional gift from waxy parental units, as it only started about 4-5 years ago, and that is... pistachios. This year, a 4 lb. bag of friggin' pistachios. So, now we've got to subdivide it and distribute it amongst various in-laws who will again be mystified as to why wax's wife keeps givin' 'em pistachios every year.

    How about you?

Perhaps your parents are getting 20 lb bags of pistachios from someone else and just passing on a share to you too ;)

    HA!

I get Pistachios too from the 'rents. I hadn't considered the thought of cutting them with lesser nuts in baggies and regifting. Wax, do you have some coke-dealing experience we're not aware of? :)

I DID re-gift some ribbon candy right in front of the gifters daughter. The mail lady came to our office today with my secret santa prezzie, and dropped off a package for me. So I felt guilty and just grabbed what I had nearby, which was ribbon candy the mom of one of our employees brought in. I kinda laughed nervously but then the girl cracked up, so it was nice and smooth in the end :D

A ziploc bag filled with pistachios is just a small part of the treasure trove in everyone's stocking.

We get some pretty good jelly every year from some distant relatives, but we keep it. Long story short, biscuits, toast, bagels, etc. are NEVER eaten plain. ;)

We get roughly a gallon or two of maple syrup from a relatives farm, oh and some honey too. Typically see them another time of year armed with more sugary goo. Cant possibly consume that much......especially on a diet!

We'll gladly trade our annual "box o'crap" that we get from my father-in-law for pistachios! The "box o'crap" can be best described as a small collection of dollar-store rejects. LOL! But, it's the thought that counts!

My wife and I get cheese from her grandparents. Not special cheese, just the normal cheddar and moneterey blocks you buy at Safeway. I guess they figure we just can't get cheese out here in Washington...
