Ouch, SF is nuts. "Enzo... or a 1 bedroom condo... Enzo... or condo?" I actually just sat in a Gallardo for the first time yesterday, but no drive yet. The interior is much nicer than the early Vanquish, although not as nice as the S. At least the instrument panel is - that's the glaring eyesore in the early Vanquish IMO. Were I to get one I would probably get a custom stereo/nav system with a nice big LCD put in where the nav system is. I also found out that you can get the front splitter/spoiler lip from the S put on an early Vanquish - unpainted it is ~$1400. I like the looks of the Gallardo, less than a CS but still more than a F430. But I stand by my opinion that the Vanquish is the best looking car in production today, period.
Check around...I'm having mine replaced (hospital parking lot curb is too steep). It's $300 unpainted. The carbon fiber lip from ?________? can't remember the name is $4000. I passed on that.
I stopped by the Lambo Dallas store yesterday just to see whats up. A salesman and I started talking and he said to check out this Vanquish they had. Very impressive ! The interior looks a little too much plastic, DB-9 wood looks better. This particular car had Radar jamming, satelite TV, xxx Horsepower stereo system, and you know, all the essiantials. "Fire it up" "Who, me ?;OK " WOWSERS !!! Although this particular car is just beyond my reach (cough, cough) its still a killer deal at 160k. Just for grins I'm checking the normal sources on an older one. Low of 105k for a 15k mile 2002. The F1 tranny seems to be a concern. I wish they came with a 6 speed.
Went to the AM dealer today and started chatting with the manager about AMs in general. The manual tranny is do-able but not in my budget. He had no Vancs in stock, only a DB9, but was estatic on the Vanc. Ive seen 2 Vanquishes sell at 97 and 90.1 k recently. Both nice cars but with title issues. (theft recovery and AM rebuy). I think I'm coming down with Vanquish fever.
I am seriously looking at a DB9 or Vanquish...the lines on these cars are totally amazing. I heard they depreciate rather quickly, but haven't seen evidence of it here in Atlanta. Anyone know of any good deals out there?
Purchase is the only known cure I followed a V8 Vantage down the road this morning and it sounded pretty damn good too!
