348 exhaust note

Here is my 348 on the dyno. It is a little hard to try and hear the difference through the computer speakers, but my car now sounds AWESOME with the new XOST exhaust on it. Sounded great stock, but no match for sports exhaust. Check it out.

I wonder if the 355 will see similar gains as your 18.8bhp @ the wheels??? If my 355 will see even 10bhp @ the wheels it will make a strong case for me to aquire one!

 

Hi Pap, can hear the difference, it's 'Fxxking loud' and it sounds great! Do you know how many 348's are in OZ mate?

That 18.8HP could have been bettered IMO. I just run normal 91RON fuel, that was stale because it was over 3 weeks old in the tank. We dont have BP Ultimate fuel, which is around 98RON. MY car boogies with that crap when I tried it once last year!!
Anyways........stale fuel, really hot day and intake air temps were 56C. Plus looking at the air/fuel mixture curve on the dyno showed it to be erratic. Sign of dirty airflow meters. They were black and covered in ****/black soot when I had the airbox off, and my mate said we should clean them before I refitted the airbox, but I thought nah.......I just wanted to fire my baby up to hear it growl with the XOST, and it did!
With new Premium fuel, cooler day and clean airflow meters, should easily get over 20HP gain he said. We went from 173KW to 190KW on that day. Should be able to crack 200KW at the wheels, which is 268HP. So maybe again in March(my last Dyno run was a cooler day) we will clean the airflow meters, new fuel, then give it another run to see if we can do it.

At a wild guess.........I reckon there would be around 50 348's in Oz. That is a wild guess. Around 5-6 for sale and then there are a few I know of on Aus fchat. Then there would be guys that are not on Fchat that own them. So around 50 would be close. There probably is the Ferrari Club Australia Registry that would know how many 348's that are in the FCA club. But I still reckon around 50 is close. Give or take a few?

 

That X-ost is big bucks though. I will need to put some more quarters in the "piggy bank"

Very highly doubt it, we've never seen more than 4whp on an F355 exhaust install. I would be suprised if X-Ost knew something Tubi, Capristo, Kreis-sieg, and MS Racing didn't to
increase horsepower by 18whp. On a side note it is an awesome sounding exhaust and the service Daniel provides makes the X-Ost brand very easy to acquire in the U.S. now that there is a reliable distributor that we all trust for it.

 

That sounds about right (4whp), I don't think I will be spending my "bottlecaps" on an exhaust for meager gains.

 

Ah cmon! Its worth every cap you will spend! X-ost sounds awesome.
