I honestly have no problem with you. You just seem to blow things completely out of proportion.

What I have a problem with is when people give out misinformation and claim it as the truth. Be careful with what you say, ESPECIALLY with posts that can create a negative backlash against someone or a group of people.

You don't think saying, "He did it. He did it. He is the reason why fchat was down. He is an angry member who was banned, and he was getting revenge." You don't think that will piss some people off?

 

Oh that is fine because banned members aren't real people too... GET REAL. I'm sure banned members and other people who you say cause trouble don't want their information readily available in a post on an internet forum. They are people too, I'm sure some have families that they want to remain safe too. Just because they were banned or are troublemakers doesn't mean they aren't entitled to privacy.

It's isn't the reposting of his post that I don't like. I don't like you making him the target for attacks because the whole story wasn't posted. You could have made another post saying something like, "Sorry guys, Rob said that it wasn't his fault, it was a database error etc etc etc", and we wouldn't be having this disagreement.

 

I exploited MDM, and Matthew Love because there was major speculation before about them. Public knowledge shouldn't be a bad thing when you don't try and claim that you have this that that.

 

if someone wants to find something out about someone, then let them do it. It does no good when you post information about someone.

Okay, Noah I'm truly sorry. I'm not saying this to just be okay with someone, I hate not getting along with someone. TO everyone else, I was going along with what the initial reactions were, I take back me blaming anyone. Steve isn't responsible, stupid for me to follow another forum and come here claiming things. Noah, I don't have any problem with you at all. And as far as what information I post about people? I will completely sensor what I say about anyone, you are completely right about posting certain information about one another. It's not fair, unless someone is completely out of line. I truly do hope this is the end of it. I'm glad that Fchat is back at all, script errors are common I believe. I didn't try and jump into this pointing a finger, I hope I can leave keeping it to myself.

 

It's all good. I keep in mind that this is an internet forum, and I want it separate from my life off of it. I assume that everyone wants the same thing, so whatever dirt or info I dig up on someone, I keep it to myself. If information was found about me or my family, and posted for millions to see, I would be scared senseless. I do not want that for others, no matter how bad I think that person or persons are.

Understood now, and I agree. I really hope this is the end of it, I know I'm not better than the next guy and I'm not trying to prove it either. I won't be sharing my knowledge publicly like how I have in the past. It's way late for me, I can't imagine what time it is over there. Good night.

 

The point is that Steve F was CLAIMING he took down fchat. Maybe he didn't, but calling attention to the fact that he claimed he did was not spreading misinformation. He CLAIMED he did it. It's sort of like if a building were to blow up, and a terrorist group claimed they did it, it's perfectly reasonable to assume they did do it and investigate them for doing it until such time as it becomes obvious that they did not do it. And in a case like that, it would still be a crime to have claimed you did it even if you didn't. I don't think it's "slandering" anyone by showing posts from another site where that person claims responsibility for the site crash, even if it turns out that he didn't do it. I'm not sure what you guys are arguing about!
