yeah.... but unfortunately for 308's... BB are so similar in so many ways, yet SO much more powerful, it's very rare for someone to get much pleasure from both... you kinda need a contrasting car to own a BB as a second or + Ferrari.. a Dino compliments a BB perfectly... as does a 355/360... If I could only ever own 1x 12 cyl... it'd be a BB512 (carbs, of course) or a 550 though (or maybe F50!)
ha ha.. thanks mate, I'll keep HIM shiny and nice for you.... there ain't NUFFIN feminine about a BB.... if it were a person.. it'd be Barry White, Luther Vandross or maybe Tom Jones!! they oooze charm, testosterone, yet amazingly.. no other fluids....yet! I had a great drive... listening to Gold 104.3.. they had a 1977 countdown on.... Rocking all over the world, Black Betty, BAM A LAM!!..... it went on and on.. I drove it for 5 hours yesterday... just on temp permit while I complete repairs and testing in the course of preparing for roadworthy, compliance and registration.... you know how it is mate...
Very good sir. 5 hour drive. Sheesh!! I drive my 348 here for 1 hour max and I get bored of the same scenery. 348 kicks ass though, just bored of seeing the same sh*t over and over again. Any major city would be a blast to drive a Ferrari around. Especially through a tunnel or 2.
didn't go in city at all... went down Mornington peninsular... up Arthurs seat and roads around Flinders etc.. Aidans mate Aidan (dur) said it's where they test for PCOTY award... but I rarely read mags as they're mostly full OS whenever I do, so I wouldn't know. Did have some bad traffic on way down around Frankston... hot day too.. no air yet until I change dryer and set up for 134a etc... Love the look of peoples faces in traffic... mostly delight at seeing it (should have taken a pic of one young lad... I think he might have he pe'd his trousers with excitement, gave him a headlamp flip for his pleasure!) .. but then you get guys in hotted up utes/bogan mobiles who either stare ahead pretending they don't see it, or rev their 5h1tbox up... yeah... like THAT'S impressive... is that 1 camshaft and some push rods I can hear clattering around....... WOW.... and what's that... it owes you more than a roadworthy GT4.... DOH!! On the way home, A green Corvette (2000 model I think?)... tried a little move.... pfffft, see ya, and his girl gave him SUCH a LOSER look!!! BWAHAHA....
and that is EXACTLY what i'd forgotten until the other day. it's what makes it what it is and reminded me exactly why it was the supercar of the 80s when i drove scott's and carl's 308s i thought...lovely...great...i'd like to own one. BUT THEN.......the drive of a boxer the other day reminded me why i was so excited when i moved from the 308 to the boxer and why i suddenly started thinking what an OHOS 308/328s are. i'd almost buy one again...but there's only one i'd buy...and that's my old one. it's the best regularly used one i've ever seen.......by far.
a UK spec 328 will leave a BB behind up to around 100 mph, fit a sports exhaust to the UK 328 and it'll give a BB a run that'll make it "flex" all it's muscle to keep junior in its place.
great extra pics and commentary Phil haha, you sound like a 16yo who has just found the old mans playboy stash when describing the BB....love it certainly a sweet package tho, great road presence and sense of occasion sitting behind the wheel and as for your roll on acceleration up the hill...yeah....she moved along very nicely...but nothing that 2.0 of injected turbo couldnt deal with
maybe, but he'd be so far ahead he'd have time to change the belts and get out before ya I have video evidence of the poor old gt4 beating the rexes at QR several years ago (on tape unfortunately and haven't had time to transfer to dvd)
