Heard on the BBC Sports commentary earlier today that Felipe will be driving the #5 Ferrari. Historically the odd number car is assigned to the number one team driver. The commentator was also somewhat skeptical in comments about Kimi and Ferrari. He mentioned that '07 could prove to be a very interesting year for F1 with MS and Ross out of the picture and the changes forthcoming. Comments also were made about Ross' emergence in the future as possibly a team principal. Time will tell.

All very interesting - I may have to find another F1 race to attend!!

As Aristotle once said "When the green flag drops the bullsh!t stops."

I'm tired of all the speculation and can't wait for the real racing season (no BS tire tests) to start.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

My humble prediction: Kimi will come out of the box hot the first event, qualify better than Felipe. Massa will then raise his game at that point, and he will surpass Kimi for the first 5-6 races. Then Kimi will finally adjust to the car, the crew, learn to properly address The Pope, settle to his new more conservative lifestyle, understand the Italian way, and finally fight for the WDC with his biggest rival, Massa.

Kimi will win the WDC in 2007.

What else did you learn of the future when you visited 2007 last night?

Carol, I can see this is going to be a tough year for you.

Exactly right, both run away from the field and score 14 wins combined.

I will exchange bodily fluids with a series of females approximately 74 times in 2007, not including last night as technically it was over at 11:56 PM - very disappointing, was counting on much more.

I will close a large deal and drive the Ferrari of my choice by mid year - very very good.

I will win the Florida lottery, but the IRS will take 90% - very disappointing.

I will be offered the back up ride on the Ferrari F1 team when Kimi trips on a curb after leaving a party and sprains both wrists - very very good.

Many more, but the rest are just too unbelieveable.

Here's what I saw. Kimi will do what 4 or 5 others could do with MS's Ferrari, win the WDC. Massa will do what Rubens did for years, what he was told.

Massa will hold his own. He has the drive that no other previous MS teammate has ever demonstrated. It would be foolish of Ferrari management to put all their eggs in Kimi's basket, and as they have already stated, to start the season, they have two #1 drivers.

I actually think Ferrari will stumble this year ... Todt and Brawn are on some sort of break.

Unless Kimi can get to grips with the team straight away they will take too long to get enough points. Their only hope is that the rest of the grid are pretty hopeless.

I actually think Alonso will win races pretty quickly, earlier than Kimi because Alonso is better than most people think. He did not just fluke 2 WC's against MS, but deservingly won them. Kimi is fast but Ferrari are doing a team restructure, and that has always been difficult for them. Look at their first car by their new designer in 2005, a piece of cr@p.

In conclusion, if Massa does beat Kimi, consistently then I'm turning off from F1 ... F1 is no longer driver focused enough and any old monkey can make the best car win, and Kimi (like my wife says) is not as good as we all thought. Thus we have a grid fill of 'corporate nearly race drivers' ...

I really hope McLaren make a decent car otherwise we are going to experience the worst season of F1 ever (especially if Ferrari do make a good un), unless somebody else flukes a decent car ...

In September I met Felipe Massa in the parking lot of Planet Hotel, across from the Ferrari factory in Maranello. Check out his shirt... either he knew his number for 2007 back then or that's just his height in feet.

    from F1racing.net:

In the wake of Schumachers departure and all the babble about his teammates being contractually and technically obstructed to challenge him on track, this is some refreshing team tactics by Ferrari.
