Another member from another forum discovered this quote from Texas' DMV website: I need to move somewhere else...
You mean there are cars in Texas. You still hear the phrase "Everyone in Texas drives a pickup with a gunrack", I believe the rest of the country thinks that way too. I lived in Texas for nine years and as soon as I moved out I heard jokes like "where's my pickup?" from many people. I guess the pickup truck is considered the state vehicle just like the stool pigeon is the state bird in Pennsylvania.
lived in texas my whole life and no one in my family has owned a pickup but i do want to buy one lol.....
Yeah the pickups are everywhere lol, no one in my family has ever owned one and there's only one or two that i'd ever think of buying if I ever needed one.
You know, I am moving back to the states in a few weeks, and I really need a pickup truck, but I just can't bring myself to buy one. I'm looking at Ford Focus station wagons. Seems a better alternative all around. I've driven a Focus wagon, and it handled reasonably well around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. At least the Evo VII driver I overtook into turn 1 and never saw again until the main straight when I dutifully slowed down for the 100km/h speed limit signs must have thought so. What a pansy.
