I'm considering to acquire a Gallardo, specifically Verde Ithica as I personally think it is simply a MAGNIFICANT color. However, after talking to a number of friends, many thought the green is a bit to feminine for a male driver. My fiance thinks it is definitely more suitable for a female driver only (keep in mind her motive is 'self-serving")

I could speculate what some of you are thinking "get what I like.. and so forth". While I live in a great midwestern town, a wonderful place with wonderful people but nonetheless, it is still a pretty conservative one.....Most folks here haven't never seen a Lamborghini upclose let alone one of this unique and "over-the-top" color.

So, the question is...."Can I pull it off?" Thanks in advance.

Edit: Ok, I tried to have a POLL but for some unknown reasons, it didn't take.....

Without a doubt. That is the greatest color. There are very few people that are willing to take the risk, but once you do there is no looking back. You will not regret it. I do not find it feminine at all and I don't know anyone else that does.

By friend has a Gallardo in Verde Ithica and we sometimes park next to each other for coffee. His Gallardo definitly gets more attention than my Murcielago. You can see the green a mile away. Every time I see it I like it more.

I personally think the color is beatiful on a murcielago, however, i dont think it looks quite as nice on the gallardo. I'd go for a white gallardo. I saw one in person the other day. Looks niiiiiiiice.

Twiggy (ancient supermodel) had a lime green Miura. It worked for her and it would work for me. Any color you wish is fine, but red is expected and perhaps white is a bit reserved. Go with Verde, you'll never have to worry about forgetting where you parked

Where you talking to Parr? I bet he was just pi$$ed that Ferrari does not offer that color. I would get it in a heart beat.

Makes as much sense as saying a red Ferrari is feminine.

    Tom,

I see the Verde SE often at our VCR Gathering.
It is definitely the nicest color I have seen, you can pull it off! Absolutely!

That baby blue color, well, that's another story :)

I am still amazed at how quickly you flip cars. Awesome!

    Hi Chris,

Awesome wouldn't be my choice of word.....Economic insensibility and fiscal irresponsibility are more descriptive. It's a rather expensive endeavor to feed an addiction. However, in this particular case, I really NEED to switch to an Egear so I can share the joy of ownership and experience with the better half......

    Tom,

Living in another very conservative Midwestern town (Cincy, Ohio) - which I have to assume to be similar to where you are.

I have thought about this a lot when selecting my color combo in the Spyder, etc.

Outside the obvious of "buy what you like, etc."

I would personally not do it - the color is just too over the top for the conservative towns (IMO) . People outside the midwest - this is hard to imagine or picture. However driving an exotic in the midwest is Outrageous as it is. This color takes it to the next level.

Smaller towns, reputations, business, appearing more obnoxious that you already seem with just driving a Lambo or F-car.

I think (and you have) Orange is do-able - there are several makes of cars that have orange - and you/I could pull that off. The Verde Ithica is just screaming wild for the midwest.

If I didn't have /do business in Cincy - I would probably try it. Right now it is bad enough to answer the So you Drive a Lambo questions - since it is a small town/city - people actually see you a lot... I can imagine with a VI color - they would be like - so you are the obnoxious lambo driver - that must show off, etc.

I also don't prefer it as much as most of the other colors - I am pretty conservative as well - thus my post may reflect this. I just think I might grow tired (being conservative) of the color after a while.

I think my next will be the orange - It has grown on me big time in the last few years. Maybe I will saythe same for the VI color in a few years as well. But the baby blue - no way :)

if anyone is going to say anything they are going to say it regardless of colour, the verde lambo's IMO are the hottest of them all.

    Ricardo,

We share the EXACT sentiment, my brother.....My tripedation has nothing to do w/ the stereo-typing of matching color & gender but the perceived demographic and its conservatism.

    Hi Tom.....!!

It's a great color IMHO.........a classic, right up there with yellow and orange.

It is not feminine, nor is it inappropriate. It is a Lamborghini color and it is very similiar a color they used in the past.

Go for it.......it's my first choice if I was buying a Lambo.......followed by Arancio Atlas.

    Tru dat......

Deep down inside, being such an avid car guy.......I am certain Parr wishes he can discreetly get a Lambo w/o having to sacrifice his persona as an exclusive Ferrari loyalist.

Even in the Midwest, I would do it. Maybe not if I were a dentist or doctor dealing with "public" customers. After all, you're not selling consumer products at retail, are you?

After a pearl orange 6.0, there isn't much else to do to make people green with envy.

But if you really want to drive people wild, buy a cheaper yellow G and repaint it in the 30th anniversary metallic purple! Peoples' heads would explode as you drove by!
