Hi, I was wondering if any of might be able to give me some pointers on where to buy parts, in particular rear view mirrors for current and popular Ferraris. I'm hoping to pick up one or two for a project I'm working on.

    Any help appreciated,

    thanks, Chris

How about your local Ferrari dealer ?

Or maybe some of this site's sponsors ?

This feels like a trick question

    Hi,
Vitaloni, from Italy is the maker of most rearview mirrors used by Ferrari.
If you dot com them you will get the subsidiary they have in California.
They are slow in replying, but they have a bunch of models they supply and also some spares.
    Good luck,
    A.

Sorry, it wasn't meant to be a trick or sound suspicious. I've been experimenting with mirrors for different cars but from dealers they tend to be 6-8 times the price I could get them for on ebay. There simply aren't many Ferrari mirrors on ebay oddly enough so I thought there may be second hand parts specialists where I might be able to pick some up.

As a parallel question do you know if the mirrors different for each car or if thye re-use the same model?

I'll look through the sponsor list and send off some emails. Sorry if my post was vague or caused any concern.

    Chris.

Vitalonis are not cheap......try Reoriginals in Houston...

Ducatis use them also, try wrecking yards.....

Yes they are different by year obviously, early 308s and Boxers used teardrop oval ones then about 1980 they went to rectangular flag shaped up to modern ones that have the model name embossed in them...

TR had the single sided high mount that one year....IIRC '86...

I don't know what a F430 one would cost but it'd make the $175. Vitaloni for my 1977 look CHEAP!

Now that we are talking mirrors how about a source for those GTO style mirrors. I was thinking of getting those for my 308.

    Thanks

Thanks guys, checking those out now. If I had to target one model for a custom mirror option which would you say would be the best model to choose?

I'd like to explain more about what I'm considering but first need to make sure I'm not being inappropriate etc, I'll try and find the owner/moderator and check in with them first.

Checked in and it seems things are cool now I've subscribed.

What I'm considering is integrating the remote display for a radar detector in to the rear view mirror like this:

GTO specific components are both rare and expensive....maybe a repro vendor could do some...

When I had my '84 308, I never could find the rectangular ones anywhere.
