Hopefully, it is safe to go back into the water now. Somewhere in web space, there is a thread titled Dr Whos Boxer Book. Id like to first correct that title and then give an update. It needs to be said that this book was never my book. The author has always been and still is Nathan Beehl. While it has been suggested that I was redoing the book, except for a few very minor changes, I have not make any editorial changes to Nathans work. My role was to get the book printed and ready for distribution. Unfortunately, I dropped the ball. While one can always give excuses, the truth is that I didnt know what I was doing, and I ran out of time. The good news is that Nathan and I have reached an agreement such that I am no longer in the way. Im gonna take my hit and move on. Nathan, meanwhile, is pressing full steam ahead to get the book done. Ill leave it to him to provide any updates on the books progress. I would like to mention, though, that you can support the book by buying it directly from Nathan when he is done. Unfortunately, the normal distribution channels, i.e., Barnes and Noble, demand such a large discount that small volume books like this one have a tough time even recouping their costs. Thus, your support will be critical. I know that I will buy a copy. While I have forwarded to Nathan all the emails that each of you sent me, Im sure that he will not mind getting a fresh update from each of you. His email is (delete the spaces which I added to stop spammers) b o x e r b o o k @ y a h o o . c o . u k Again, Nathan, my apologies, and I look forward to seeing the final product. Dale
Maybe hook up with a boutique publisher, like David Bull, etc.???? Good luck ya'll! Motorbooks Int'l does a lot of titles also.. ...in Italy it's Georgio Nada.
Just to let everyone know - I'm publishing it myself. It is now with the designers/printers - have to have it laid up, proofed etc but it's under way. Quality is going to be same as 'A Champions View' by Phill Hill - large format, good quality paper, lots of photos and a de-luxe version with an added bonus. More later. Nathan
Should have a front page within the next week or so. I will place more information shortly. I will post here, so watch this space. I am happy to take orders direct, and to sign/personalise copies if you want to devalue your copy , but need to check with FChat what I am allowed to offer here as I don't want to break any FChat rules. So keep watching or subscribe to this thread if you are interested. Thanks Nathan
Design is now well under way. All the photos are scanned, some chapters are laid out and the front cover looks like this. Planning two versions, standard and limited edition deluxe. Still looking at Apr/May publication date. More information to follow in due time. Nathan Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm really looking forward to reading/seeing it. Nathan- please reserve a deluxe/limited edition copy for me. Thanks! Will you be accepting PayPal payments for it? Gary
Hi Gary I will be taking PayPal, and if you buy direct I will also be able to personalise the book. Thanks for asking. Nathan
I hope to have, and am planning for a warm reception for Nathan's book on www.Fchatstuff.com. It will be a feature item for sale as soon as Nathan makes some copies available to me. I have asked him to reserve enough copies to take care of all of us here. As I told Nathan, I intend to pass 100% of the proceeds to him (minus any paypal or credit card fees.) It may not be the smartest business decision I ever made, but it's something I feel the need to do. Nathan has been very helpful to many in the community here, including me, and it's the least I can do to help jump start his book. And, by buying through Fchat, I can save you all a TON OF POSTAGE vs. shipping from the UK. That means all of you fchatters will be able to use VISA, MASTERCARD, AMEX, and of course PAYPAL to purchase Nathan's book from me at fchatstuff. Anyone not familiar with Nathan's work should google him, but here are a couple of cover shots of some of his other stuff. At what price will it be sold? I am very interested in obtaining a copy. Maybe even a personalized limited edition

The DVD will have extra photos that we couldn't get in the book, or perhaps are interesting but not good enough quality, or even turned up too late. This deluxe version should be £99 (c.$190). Place your order either with www.Fchatstuff.com or myself - [email protected] - but I can only accept PayPal - www.Fchatstuff.com can accept c/cards. Delivery should be Apr/May. Thanks Nathan
Last year there was a story going round that also Keith Bluemel was writing a book on Boxers. This was to be an addition to his earlier books "Original Ferrari V8" and "Original Ferrari V12 1965-1973: A Restorer's Guide" so concentrating on originality. Is this book still under preparation or did Keith use all his material for the Cavallino newsletter "Flat 12"? Nathan, can you comment on differences in focus / subject etc between your book and Keith's? Many thanks!
I'll order my Deluxe now.... edit... I tried... it's not listed yet.... save me one though. I don't do paypal.
