    I am looking to sell my 1995 F355B red/tan with 31k miles.

The car is in excellent condition inside and out especially for a ten year old car. It is due for a major service as the 30k was done in June of 2002, but I have all service records including the 15k service.

I know this is not the best time of year to sell, but what is a realistic asking price and what is a realistic offer?

I was tempted by your car, but ended up with a yellow '99 F1. Given everything, I think $60k is fair for your car.

Forget most Fchatters as buyers and please don't ebay it as anyone on that sight is looking for bargains. The '95's are the best 355's period! Assuming you've properly maintained the car and the vale guides and headers are in good shape, your major will run you at least $8,000. My '95 with only 13,000 miles just had it done and there are a hundred little things that are going to have to be replaced after which your car will be as good as new, faster and handle better than the rest. Hint, have them set up the suspension a la the challenge cars - ride height in rear slightly up, toe in more aggressive, consider 1/4 to 1/2 inch spacers on your fronts pushing the track out a bit -makes a wonderful car even better.
Consign it to your nearest reputable Ferrari dealer, and tell them you want to pocketwill $75,500. It may take 6 months but you will get your price. You can bet that they will have a 360 parked right next to yours and when prospective customers look at the two cars side by side, and then test drive them, yours will come up on top.
I have seen this scenario play out over and over.

I think you missed the jest of his post - he needs to move the car quickly. As locating a reputable Ferrari dealer that will push to sale your car over a car in their invenory - good luck - the only way that would happen would be if you had a deposit on something else...

I don't think so. I think he wants to get it out of the way. Maybe make a 3 party deal with VTC that you agree to sell it to him at wholesale X now, then put it at a consignment place and split the upside if the car sells within 6 months at a price of Y. If no buyers, then VTC keeps the car at the wholesale price?
Bobaer gets some cash now, VTC gets potential profit or wholesale deal, and the car is out of the way immediately.
    Any thoughts?

$8,000 sounds on the high side for a major, unless your including all those upgrades you talked about.

My local f mechanic is an independent and has been working on ferraris for over 25 years. He said he can do a major 30k engine out between $3500-$4000.

What would "wholesale" be on this car?

Sorry if I misunderstood your question. I believe wholesale is in the $60/65 range, which begs the question, why not take your time, interest on borrowed money to bridge your transaction is peanuts in comparison to the real value for your car?
Back to the major service - the $8,000 is standard quote for the basic job, parts alone are at least $1,500, assuming nothing else has to be replaced - don't count on it. Although 30,000 is not an excessive amount of mileage, its the passing of the years that really do the most damage, and in your case, as in mine, you are talking about 12 of them. Think water pipe, radiators, most connectors, nuts and bolts, shock towers, et al. It really adds up.
