ROTFL iPhone: "You lookin' at me?" Owner: "No. No! I was looking at my wrist - I wasn't looking at you!!!" iPhone: "You lookin' at me?" iPhone: "You ****in' looking at me?" Owner: "No! NO!" doody.
I haven't found this to be true. Anyway, the iPhone start out with Cingular but should soon get to other carriers.
Apparently Cisco reached an agreement with Apple to let them use the trademark - I saw that on the BusinessWeek website earlier, but can't find the link now. http://apple.com/iphone Check out the demonstrations of the interface - it looks absolutely amazing.
They have given themselves 6 months to get it out so I bet that will go up. Man I am glad I am on deployment!!! I can nuke my verizon at no penalty!!!
Why no Camera? With Apples Isight, I would have thought they would incoporate a vid cam w/ 2mp still. Is it going to have GPS?
It has a 2mp camera. Either way, I am not a phone guy at all - I just use whatever freebie Verizon is giving away - but I do want this one. I will probably wait for a 16 or 20 gigabyte version and the first gen bugs to be worked out first. What i would like to see is not a more powerful still camera but for the camera to run the iSight software for a video chat. Realtime video phone in your pocket would be a revolution.
Oooooh....the madness continues. What...is this going to be a $600 phone? No thanks. I'll stick with my current iPod Photo and standard cell phone.
I'd buy it if I werent on Verizon, and had just bought a Treo 700. Does pretty much all the same stuff. Now a widescreen iPod with 80GBs and phone? I'd drop my treo for that in a heartbeat. meanwhile, I'll keep my phone and pick up an Archos 604 Wifi. Bigger screen, removable battery, DVR functions.
I ithought Congress was going to pass a law requiring phones to be unlocked. What freq.(s) is it going to be?
I think a lot of phone manufacturers are watching to see if the iphone will actually sell at retail or if Cingular/Apple will have to discount it like all other phones and bundle it together with wireless plans. Consumers are used to getting discounted (or free) phones when they buy plans. Can Apple buck that trend?
The phone is already discounted. The price is $499, as long as you sign a 2-year contract with Cingular. That means the retail price is probably somewhere around what, $750? It is expensive, no doubt about it. But the first iPod was $399 - look how that took off. And this does so much more...
