Yes, like seat belts, there was no law that said you had to have them in many countries. Good point. However, nowadays, you NEED them. Joe
Marcel, Rear wing is personal choice but mine always went without. Please drive your SV. I had a great drive with my son on Chrstmas day in 4884 - memories like that live on in impressionable young minds forever. The LP400 has been the most difficult Lamborghini for me to find for freinds who ask...but, Im trying. Joe
The fastest Ive been in a Countach was in my Annivesario years ago, 180mph indicated, wife fast asleep...
you are right, every time when I drive my SV its a great feeling, its sounds fantastic! Now I drive it only a few times a year with dealerplates from my friend (toto70) but a few times a year in not enough!! If youngsters see it it flying it will be like a tatoo in their minds I think.. When I took a small boy-son of a friend of mine-in a countach 6 years ago it made such a impression on him that he still says: my favorite car is a Lamborghini countach.. it was in this car, I drove it for 6 years, my first Lambo, great memories!! the car above goes exacly 320km/h on the speedo at 7850 in the rev-limiter (just keeps on going!!), man it feels like 400!! I done it only twice, ITS A GREAT DRILL!!!! SCREEEEEEMING!!!! by the way, did you wake up your wife to show her?
The Countach is one of my all time favorite Lambos ever. A few months ago I ran into a white one on the street and I just loved the sound of that motor and the back firing.
Oh yeah that sound is amazing. Nothing gets my heart pumping like a Countach........no Ferrari, no Porsche, no NOTHING
Some cars only come out on sunny days (like mine, Im sometimes ashamed to admit), but this owner drives it every chance he gets, rain or shine. Joe Image Unavailable, Please Login
What an amazing thread, with equally amazing photographs!!! Joe, you're a cornucopia of Countach knowledge. Good luck with your publications. BTW folks, if this pic doesn't put a smile on your face....then you ain't human!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful daughter Tony...Auguri!!! I was also admiring your decor, namely your flooring...looks like mine LOL!!!!
A Periscopa hidden away in war-torn Lebanon... impossible you say? This car is now in the hands of a rabid enthusiast with less than 19,000km on the clock. Joe Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Black is always in-character for the Countach. Any chance of some better resolution images of it?? Very Best, Joe
'bout time you got to posting here again. I was starting to read the general Ferrari topics and lust after Tr's and 355's again. More photos please.
Hello lambo guys, countach freaks, and our communities "uncle joe" Thank you to everyone who shares in the joy and fun of these great cars. My name is Arthur and I live on the east coast with a horse farm up in Pennsylvania outside Philly and another horse farm down in Palm Beach Florida. I have put some thought into the idea of taking my countach's to the concorso event and here goes: car show great idea, time off & time away great idea, meet new friends and see old friends again great, spend 3,000 to 4,000 per car hold the phone for a minute. From the east coast it takes weeks out there and weeks back with a commercial shipper. you talking about being without ones car for 3 to 6 weeks and then get only to use it for two or three days of a crowded weekend. PlUS DID I MENTION 3,000 TO 4,000 PER CAR FOR THR ROUND TRIP! NEW IDEA: I own a 52 foot long horse trailer that converts into a 6 car hauler that i use for my toys, horses, cars, bikes, etc. To drive 6 to 7 thousand miles uses about 600 to 700 gallons of fuel or about $1500 to $2000 plus my driver gets $1000 a week while on the road. Long story short for about $4000 i can use my own 6 car hauler for two weeks and if i want more time it only costs an extra $300 no matter how long we stay out there because I can just buy the driver a roundtrip airplane ticket and schedule accordingly. With the above in mind I'm thinking for the price of one car with a commercial shipper I could haul my entire lambo collection for about the same money. Would be ok to exhibit my other lambo's and if so in a group? It takes alot of work, time, and money to put a group of cars together, why not exhit them as such? If this is not acceptable or frowned upon I understand, so if that is the case, does anyone want a ride? Regards, Arthur Current Lambo's in collection, 1968 Espada (GLASS ROOF/GRACE KELLY/1969 MONACO GRANDPRIX pacecar) 1976 Silhouette (soon to be restored to original and one off "crazy" color) 1979 LP400S (S1, low roof, bravo wheels, white/white, no wing, tuned motor) 1986 Quatrovalve Downdraft (my baby, gold wheels, wing, bought @23yrs old) Looking to add: 350 gt with 3 seat option Islero S SE30....Jota? OR 6.0 gold anniversay (which is better?) AND OF COURSE A MIURA AT SOME POINT BUT THEY ARE SO EXPENSIVE, FOR A OK ONE I COULD BUY ALL THE OTHERS I WANT AND FOR A GREAT SV I COULD HAVE THE WHOLE COLLECTION........THINK ABOUT IT ps TIME TO GET A SECOND TRAILER, HE HE HE!
Ok Blackdowndraft, The first order of business is to post pictures of the LP400S1. What a great collection. Seeing them as a group I think would be fun, but I of course have nothing to do with the event other than I hope to attend.
Great list of cars. I don't see why anybody would frown over getting to see so many Lambos, coming from one owner or six. I live in Maryland with an '86 DD QV. If you end up with room in the trailer keep me in mind. John P.S. What serial number is the '79 LP400S, and '86 DD QV?
I see an old looking picture of "A" black countach. If this story is real (and I hope it is) then we need new digital pics of your collection. Lets for sure start with the 79' white/white S1.
Thank you SO MUCH Alan These photos are AWESOME,i really love that colors, and obviously that 5000 QVs!
Tony, thank you for your comments. The vin number on my Downdraft is GLA12888, the picture of my countach that you refer to as "A" countach is not only my car but rather the very picture of the car when I bought it 8 years ago at the age of 23. I bought the car with cash before I even owned a house! Today Im 31 and the car is presently at my farm in pennsylvania along with most of my collection, I'm happy to take pictures of them and get vin numbers with a current digital camera and post them for anyone to see. I'm now in Florida for the winter but assuming the eagles stay in the playoofs you should see the pictures shortly! ( AS I WILL GO HOME FOR THE PLAYOFFS!) The Silhouette is the red car that was on ebay a few weeks ago that I bought out of Pittsburgh as part of a group collection purchase with a dealer friend of mine, check out the pictures of it when i took deliverey of it in the snow! I bought my espada this past summer from Will De Groot (LAMBORGHINI SPECIALIST IN NEW JERSEY) The vin number of my espada is 7293 here is a pic of the car as seen in the lamborghiniregistry.com Tony, if you or any others have questions about my cars please feel free to call me, 561 255 7483 (palm beach), or email me.
