not when new of course, but for ages... no record of when changed... but before 1990. car was owned by Mike Cox of West Surrey Racing at the time when mega drivers were coming through the F3 team... Senna, Hakkinen, Barrichello, Brundle etc etc... Probably got done then.. but only guessing.
one of my comp clutches for a BB and a sports exhaust option.. Bell and Larini... ooh yeah... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rob, Hmmm, a DB6 and a Jew Canoe, well....... I did like the DBS V8 with Fuel injection though I have to admit. I couldn't belive how fast it was, just incredible and really nice inside with a gaggle of smiths instruments and looking down the bonnet reminded you of Jean Shrimpton's tummy. I love quirky cars and that model with Fuel Injection fitted the bill. The problem I have with the early Ason Martin's is the value and I've not seen too many good restorations, apart from some rippers from Ken Ward. With an alloy skin rivited to a steel frame, it only lasts so long yet they command such high prices in average condition. IMO, the best value sports car from the 1960's is a Maserati and they are built just as badly as an Aston Martin. I can't belive you could buy a DB5 for 150,000 pounds yet you could buy a really nice Sebring or better, a late Ghibli 4.9 with power steering for 1/4 the price with a proper engine and a dry sump........and they are MUCH MUCH better to drive. You did say you would eventually sell it............... Why?? Great looking car. Had enough, or will you sell it and chase up a 550?
gee, nice pics of the clutch, who took those. I just realised your boxer plate DRU...... rhymes with Jew Regards, Carl.
That clutch looks familiar. BB also twin plate eh? That exorst looks horn too. Looks very nice on car pic.
one day... a long way off at present though... gotta do a top end rebuild (sodium valves) and belt service, new discs all round, compliance and rego, few bushes etc etc... I've got a to do list with it... first item will be ticked off on Friday... Phillip Island.... had a practice in an F50... now for some real balls!!
yes, happy snaps courtesy of "I can't tell difference between Leica and canon" Carl888 DRU is from Exeter I believe
When I first went on AFR runs one would join us (early 80's), it looked as stunning as that photo! And was quick on the highway!

Well Jon, A well set up one is great! They are surprisingly nimble and their reputation as being a fast truck is completely unfounded. Even a non PS version has significantly lighter steering than a Daytona. Great engine, great steering, OK brakes, sound good and rust like hell! Regards, Carl.
you'll BOTH keep..... but, since you asked, the 308 driver was pleasantly surprised when I passed him... he came to ask what I had done to the car as I out braked him... but it was just tyres... Thruxton is a BB track... VERY fast long straights/kink and the 348/F40 shot.... it was a novice session at Silverstone... I caught them both... despite that understeer!
