I just checked Ferrari North America website as well as Lime Rock Park season schedule and found no event for this summer. Has this event been skipped over? Anyone have more info as to why?

    Marc,

    Check the schedule at: www.empirestateregion.com

FCA Lime Rock event is scheduled for July 20 - 21. I do not know if the vintage cars are going to be there this year or not. But there is definitely an FCA event at LRP.

Note: The FCA International Meet is being held at Watkins Glen from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2. You might want to check that out as we are expecting a very large crowd with a lot of great cars.

Sorry, guys, but having raced there several times in the Challenge, I would not be disappointed if LR was removed from the schedule.

Personally, I don't care for the absurd regulations and restrictions at LR (which hopefully may have changed since I last raced there). I can't say I really enjoy the track, either, as it's so small and tight (don't get me wrong, it's a challenging, fun little track, but it's just little and the cars can't stretch their legs). It would be more fun in a go kart, to my thinking, and am shocked that the GrandAm guys go there with the Daytona Protoypes at all (or that IMSA raced there for that matter). I can think of a few better tracks to take the Challenge to. It was always a decision whether we'd go or not if it was on the schedule. A couple of times was plenty.

However, I do understand just how important the Northeast is to FNA, and it is, admittedly, relatively convenient to NYC, MA and CT. Lots of good cars there, and, of course, because of FNA's and the dealer's presence not so far away, I'm sure there is lots of pressure to keep on going back to LR.

Check the dates that is for 2006. BTW Lime Rock is not the closest track to the Metro NY Area. Pocono is closer and an easier driver.

    Interesting, thanks for your perspective.

As someone in the Northeast, I have to say that I'm glad to go to the event every year and I can see why they would would to keep it on the list considering the turnout.

I was really looking forward to the Vintage Ferrari race... oh well.

There is a vintage event scheduled for Labor Day weekend. Does anyone know what kind of Ferrari turnout there might be?
