So I keep seeing kids with Ferrari bookbags and jackets etc. walking around school. Anyone from Tech on here? I figure most of these guys are just wearing them as a statement. "Hey baby, wanna make out? I have a Ferrari.... bookbag."
I'll keep my eyes open for them. Oh yeah saw a guy with a Ferrari shirt today leaving the Weber Space building... I swear they're everywhere.
used to work across marietta st from ga-tech and drive my 355 and diablo through campus to dodge the north-ave traffic screw-job. I'm also a ga-tech alum but, as I remember it, there wasnt really much worth making out with! "what do you call a good looking chick at tech? -- freshman." was the old joke. probably still true.
It's true if you hang around the science and engineering building, but if you go over to tech square to the management building it's not bad. I have a girlfriend though so I'm not really looking
I'm Tech Alumni. I started coursework towards my masters there as well, but I decided to go down a different path and I don't go there anymore. And I didn't have my F-car when I went there, nor did I wear flashy F jackets. WaltP is correct, I've seen a 308 parked in the lot by the Bunger-Henry building many times. -Tom ps. For the record, I don't work for anyone from Emory!
The website for this year's GA Tech Autoshow is at http://www.gatechautoshow.com/. Some of us have gone the last two years and have had a great time. Nominally the show is only open to vehicles owned by Tech students, faculty, staff and alumni, but a special invitation is always extended to exotic car owners, and some dealerships also show their wares. Last year, with Ferrari's Franco Cimatti being the keynote speaker, FoA brought a 333 SP, a Spice-Ferrari IMSA car, a 288 GTO and an Enzo. With this year's speaker being from GM, I wouldn't expect a repeat, so we will have to provide the Ferraris! (P.S. On the website's "history" page, the 328 in the background of the photo of Mr. Cimatti is mine--by the time the photo was taken, all the other F-cars had departed!)
Don't forget the F40 that was there. My all time favourite! Also of interest from last year: a Daytona Coupe (original??? unlikely), Z06 Daytona pace car driven by Leno (the yellow Z06 there was mine), 2 Ford GTs (one owned by a current GT student), Mazda RX-792P (R26B quad rotor motor, succesor to the Le Mans-winning 787B), and a RBR F1 car. Someone there with a Volvo had a great sense of humor - check out the moose 'shield'. They should offer that on F430s sold in Sweden... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks. Emory student here. My roommate's dad has a 575M, but it's in Panama. There's a student with a yellow Gallardo which I see on campus frequently. Picture. I've seen a Viper SRT-10 with Tech plates, but I've yet to be on Tech's campus so I can't do much better.
My friend who goes to Emory showed me that yellow Gallardo. Pretty crazy to have an exotic on campus! I haven't seen any Ferraris on campus yet. Maybe because I live on east campus. Anyways, I always see a Yellow Lotus outside the student center. Btw, I'm a fellow Yellow Jacket (Freshman) pursuing my B.S. in Computer Engineering and looking forward to starting my own business. Hopefully the Ferrari will come soon after that! -Dan
Hey Dan, think I saw you over on L-power. Since this thread is devoted to some of the South's finer institutions... how do you like Atlanta?
Yup, that's me on Lpower. I'm definitely getting the Bull before the prancing horse. Perhaps that will change later down the road... The city of Atlanta is actually growing on me. At first, I felt a little insecure and disappointed. But after doing some exploring, Atlanta seems like a great place to start my education and possibly my career! GT so far has been a wonderful experience for me! -Dan
Ah, I'm going the opposite road - gotta go F-car first, but only because there aren't any decent Lamborghinis that will be in my immediate price range. Gallardos are coming down, but there are several really good Ferraris that can be had for under $80k, and as the 355 depreciates, the number only grows.
