An increase of 5% over 2005... Accordingly, revenues and trading profit are expected to slightly increase. Fiat raised to 85% its investment in Ferrari SPA, Mubadala Development Company, the Abu Dhabi investment fund still keeps 5% stake, while Piero Ferrari holds 10% Source; FerrariWorld
With the Dino, it will likely be under a Dino brand name, instead of Ferrari, so I dont see the sales of that car being listed for Ferrari.
I've just read the 2006 production figures for Lamborghini. Nice to compare... Lamborghini sold 2.087 cars in 2006...
I'm started to carry Farrari as my collection ..i was just woudering would Farrari gave me an huge disscount for half an dozen?if sumone can gave me the phone directly sales from Farrari,i would much appreciate your kindness help!maybe soon i'll be advertised on this site as well!=)..discount for all fellow members!
Ferrari should make as many cars as they can. They already sell cars for under market value new, so why not produce enough cars where the price equals market value? That will destroy all the flippers, and more people will have a shot at owning a new Ferrari. Everyone will be happier. Plus, the more Ferrari's are sold, the greater the oppertunity for mechanics to enter the market. That will mean more choice for Ferrari owners. And more parts will be produced. Maybe maintaining a Ferrari will drop in price? Corvette makes about 35,000 per year, and it is considered a somewhat rare car. Not everyone can own one, and after about 15 years they start to gain value again (with the exception of 1984 which is not popular). Ferrari could triple production and they would still make less than 1/2 the number of Corvettes.
if ferrari were to take your advice, they would be like vettes. who wants that? they should raise their prices though.
The best marketing advantage Ferrari has for them (which works wonders) is the mystique of the marque. When one goes by, almost everyone (car enthusiast or not) extends their arm, points and exclaims: "Look, a Ferrari!" THE best (and most cost effective) advertising one could ask for! This is part of the reason why they sell every one at exotic prices - they can justify this. If they increase production and the brand becomes more "common", the mystique and aura will potentially dull - what follows is less demand at the higher prices Ferrari commands. For $200k you are not only getting performance/technology/looks, you are given a feeling that you are in something special, something not many see or can afford to have. Ferrari has this extra special something called exclusivity and they should (and intend) to keep it (I am not one who can afford a new Ferrari by any means and I still feel this way - I have and love my 308)!. With modern sports car performance figures (on paper) becoming closer and closer as technology progresses, the remaining aspects which give Ferrari justification for their prices and the reason for the excitement these cars generate will be the intrinsic qualities you can not get from other marques. If one sees just as many Ferraris as Corvettes, these intrinsic qualities will fade and no finger pointing and exclamations will happen..... Just my long 2 cents.... Anthony
Not all Chevy's are Corvettes. If we're going to hold Corvettes responsible for everything else Chevy makes, then we might as well lump Ferrari together with Fiat.
Would you feel less special if more people owned a Ferrari? Do you feel superior to people because you own a Ferrari and they do not? My ZR1 could out perform your Ferrari in every way, twisties, straight aways, anything you can think of. And there are less ZR1's than 308's. Does that mean everyone should run out and buy a ZR1? Or should you drive what you enjoy? Ferrari could make more cars than GM, and a Ferrari would still be a Ferrari. The car would still drive the same way. It would be just as much fun to drive no matter how many were made. I personally wish that Ferrari would have made many more 308's and 328's back in the 80's. They are beautiful and too rare. Think of Ferrari as a beautiful woman. The value of a hot chick does not go down if everyone else has one. You'll just have more opportunities to admire other peoples good fortunes. One last thing about the ZR1. One of the best features of the ZR1 is that 99% of the people can't identify it from a normal Corvette. I don't like sticking out, but I love having the power. There might be some people who have no idea what their car can do, they just want something shinny to park by the starbucks so people who know even less can drool. Then there are people who love cars, and they want to take the curves at high speeds.
I see Corvettes everyday and I don't consider them rare. If I see 1 Ferrari a month on the road, I'm lucky.
oh boy...another thread becoming Corvette vs. X.... on the net, a gazillion and counting... in magazine correspondence sections, a bazillion and counting..
Ferrari is building too many cars. THey need to go the Lambo route, raise the price 50% more, and cut production by 75%....just like it was in the old days. As for the vette blah, blah faster thing, i can build a 88 Honda for half the money than the vette and do laps around a Zr1 for half that price as well. Grow up with these comparisons ZR1. The Corvette is the fastest cheapest car on the market....good for them.
Yes, I agree, Ferrari is building too many cars...production should be limited to 2500-3000....and they have too much merchandise out there - keychains, hats, etc, and, of all things, a stuffed Cavallino ; ) Anthony
yes, i saw...a topic related post woven into others that aren't... i clicked on this thread thinking i would learn a bit about the Ferrari production scheme, and other relevant things... oh well...
Focusing on profit instead of quantity would probably be best but this is still limited production especially when you consider its spread among several models and with options differing as well I'd say its not to bad yet but I'd prefer it not continue.
as usual, you have no idea what the f you are talking about. if we all get together and buy you a Zo6 would you promise to never buy a ferrari and never post on this board again? please?
