How fast have we gone?

I followed a thread like this a year or two ago on www.offshoreonly.com. Anything goes, cars, boats, snowmobiles, airplanes, motorcycles, etc... I couldn't believe some of the responses. I thought I was a speed freak. Hell, I'm not even in the game with some of those guys.

So, how fast have you gone? I'll start.......

Porsche 951: 280 kph
Camaro Z28 (last gen. + mods): 280 kph

Recently, I met the Ronan M6 dudes who did 330 in their new M5 on the Autobahn. It's an easy find on You Tube.

 

Car: 130 in a rally Fiesta thing.
about 110 or so in a Volvo S60 challenge day

Plane: about 565.

What is done to the RX1 because they usally radar at 116-118. I have gone around 150 in a Mustang, 70 on a heavely modded Seadoo, 110 in a 360 Spyder, and 100+ more times then I can count on a sled.

 

This was 2 years ago but from what I remember the RX-1 was lowered about 2 inches, had full ECP kit, low windshield and studs. Addiontally this was not a short run, it was on a 2+ mile long lake and took a while to get to that speed.

I have not been that fast in any car really.

This was all fictional of course on closed circuits in my imagination in case we have goverenment employee readers

 

283 kph in a Porsche a friend owned. I love speed but that's scary fast in a road car.

 

Pap! i've run my milkcarton lancer into the limiter at 190km/h, i thought you'd be game in your 348. Is it the road quality, cops etc?

 

Only done high speeds in cars. With me driving - a measly 135mph, with someone else driving, 160mph. I wanna join the double-ton club, however so far I am yet to own a car capable of it, never mind feel as though I'd be capable of controlling a car at 200mph+

as a driver: 115 in my malibu (on a track, i must add)

 

I follow all speed limits.

 

130mph in my CL500


Not speeding stupid like that anymore, one more ticket and my insurance more than doubles. And I learned in Traffic School you don't save that much time.

202mph (325kph) in a 2003 Lamborghini Gallardo on the Autobahn in Stuttgart, Germany - 2003.

 

A little different spin on the idea:

Fastest acceleration: 0 - 150 mph in 2 seconds. April 13th, 1990 aboard an S-3 Viking jet launched off the USS Independence in the Pacific Ocean.

Fastest deceleration: 120 - 0 in about 2 seconds. Same day. Same jet. Arrested landing on the deck of the Indy.

In between the two events, I found out the S-3 Viking is FULLY aerobatic!

Trust me, Im game. But LOTS and LOTS of cops here man.
We have the most cops here per capita in QLD.
Plus the roads here average. I was tempted to go out of town a little and have a little speed run of my own, but did not have time. Maybe when I get back from holidays, will have some speeding fun if I can do it without getting caught.
